2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I believe in the talent vacuum theory. Don't compare the prospect against the top 10. But compare the prospect against only the previous draft, the current draft and next year's. How do they stack up against that group? Because the previous wave of players will age out and someone from that collection of players will take their place. Victor easily by far stands out, Scoot recedes, Miller looks better, Cam stands out, Jarace is a monster, and lots of prospects in the middle seem pretty good too.

This question comes from a place of ignorance, as I haven't been able to look at draft prospect much at all this season, but can anyone help me counter the Damien Inglis vibes I get when I see the discussion around Sidy? Apologies for the French on French comparison, and I know they're somewhat different players with Inglis more of a PF.

But in the draft talk they both seem(ed) to be described as NBA ready athletes, though maybe not with quite the elite athleticism you'd prefer. Both touted for defense (potential) and for some PG skills from their wing position.

My opinion. His floor is a rotation player. He doesn't have great wiggle so I don't think he will be a number one option. His best case is a point guard like wing who could do it all but break down others in ISO. He could be a number two guy if the shootings keeps improving. Most likely a great number three.

mock or big board? I mean how can anyone legit have a mock without knowing who is picking? I guess we can go by bpa but overall a lot of variables to factor after Wemby that is almost a lock to be different outcomes. Based all on who has the podium. btw there is no way Bufkin declares imo
Ok big board if you want to be technical. Since I didn’t state teams, I think you can tell.

If you actually watched him play you’d understand.
One of the dumbest ways to overvalue a guy is to watch his best game and ignore his season long production… I didn’t watch him today… looks like he had a great game… if he had played anywhere near this level of efficiency during the year I’d be intrigued… but over the other 30+ games he shot 42/28

He's been this good all season. His teammates are finally catching up to him so he doesn't have to force as much. Also kind of wild that young guys getting better as the season goes on and they gain experience.

Last 8 games:

16.6 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 2.1 APG on 54/36/86 shooting splits in 27.6 MPG.

He’s been doing this.

Highly doubt Miller falls.

Why would Charlotte go for a combo guard over a wing or Walker

Would be surprised if GG went lotto.

Someone usually falls but not sure I'd guess Wallace

Just my 2 cents.
If GG goes lottery, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Toronto draft him. That definitely sound like a Masai Ujiri type of pick.

Not saying I think they will, but it wouldn’t shock me either.
