Official Utah/Minnesota/Philadelphia Pick Watch

I do t think there’s much hope in Minnesota falling much lower than 13, but if New Orleans and LA can each win 2 more games it won’t matter. As long as they are in the 9/10 single elimination game the Jazz still have a better than average chance at getting two lottery picks. That’s a huge boon after how this season started.

Why did OKC have to give me hope tonight.

No kidding. I was looking at box scores earlier and saw OKC was leading 104-100 with 1:03 left. I turned the game on and saw that the scoreboard said 3rd quarter. I was mind ****ed for a second because I thought it was the 4th quarter.

There is a pretty decent chance that even if Minnesota made the playoffs as the 8th seed their pick could end up at 15.

That’s all fine and good, but I’d still prefer to have their 10 lottery combinations if possible. Statistically insignificant, but still better than a 0.0% chance it moves up - which is exactly what happens if they win enough to get up into that 7th or 8th spot in the playoffs.

Well of course lol.

I swear if we beat OKC on Thursday...
Thing is, OKC last game is against Memphis. If we assume Memphis rests everyone and OKC gets a freebie there then we are actually already eliminated.

See OKC would own the tiebreaker even if they lost to us so we cannot catch them even if we win out. All we can do is drop our 9th pick to 10th the rest of the way.

Also OKC losing was a positive in the sense that now Mavs have a theoretical path to the play-in. They get Sacramento at home today and Kings are pretty locked in at 3rd.... but Mavs also need help from us or Memphis since OKC owns the tiebreaker against them as well.

One of the underrated results from last night was Denver losing and Memphis winning. Denver still hasn't locked in the 1 seed. I'm not sure on the tie breaker situation there, but if the same result happens tomorrow (very possible), it would mean that Denver could likely play their guys vs us, which would be nice as I've been counting that as a win for us.

The Timberwolves are a good team.

We are lucky they got ravaged by whatever illness messed them up over the last week.

They barely barely beat the nets. Who arent very good. Minnesota is an average team. As their record shows

Well they've also won @ the Clippers, @ the Kings (twice), @ the Knicks, and @ the Warriors since acquiring Conley.

They also seemed to have really gotten their **** together a week ago, before Naz Reid broke his wrist and their entire team got sick at the same time.

Its cool to be like "I think they might be a good team if they were healthy"
But to say they are a good team when healthy im going to need to see their record when healthy to make that determination. Early in the season they were healthy and I might be wrong but I feel like their record was not very good even when healthy.

Also, I think you take like 85% of teams in the nba and say that they are good team when healthy and have their **** together.

I mean, they had some very impressive wins when healthy. I'm not speaking in hypotheticals - that's why I listed some of the actual hard games they won.

I'm really only referring to the Wolves post-Conley trade.

This doesn't seem true.

Anything anyone says about how good or how ****** Minny is can be true. They are 5-10 versus the 5 worst teams in the league. They are bipolar.

Rockets had a very impressive win last night too (beat the number 1 seed nuggets). You can do that with every team in nba pretty much. Cherry pick good wins when the team is healthy.
They have lots of really bad losses too. Which to be fair, you can also do with pretty much every team in the nba. Cherry pick bad losses.

In the end, they are what their record says they are. Very average.

I don't recall the Rockets stringing together several extremely impressive wins in a row before injury and illness wrecked them.

They did have a stretch this season when they beat the hawks, thunder, suns, sixers, bucks, suns in just over a 2 week span. went 6-4 in that stretch with 2 losses to the nuggets and a loss to the warriors. I think most all teams in the nba have some good stretches. Gotta look at the entire season imo. And the rockets are the 2nd worst team in the league.

I think the truth is in between. Yes they play without KAT for more than 50 games which does not help them. But overall, they were 5-5, 15-15, 30-32, 35-35..... most of the year they have been 50% team which probably reflect their real level.

Regarding Mike, he is playing well. We never know if with Dlo they will be good too but Mike is doing an impact for sure. I loook at his stat the last 10 games, he score 16.6 PPG, 28/61 at 3 ( 45.9% !!), 1.4 steal per game,4.9 assists. And make Rudy look much better. So i do think basically that this trade make Minny better which suck.
