2023 NBA Draft Megathread

The way some people (TJ cough cough) talk about that OTE game you would think they had a legendary game 7 performance in the finals. They definitely had highlights and showed their athleticism, but when you combine for the same amount of turnovers as FG's (zero jump shot makes) it's not exactly this legendary performance. Reinforces the strengths, but doesn't really answer any of the question marks.

Serious question: I haven't followed GG Jackson but wouldn't he be a fantastic long-term project that wouldn't cost a high draft pick?

I think there is definitely some concerns with Amen and Ausar. They’re both going to be 21 during the middle of their rookie seasons. I don’t know enough about the competition of OTE but I assume it’s lower than college. They don’t shoot the ball very well. With that being said it would be extremely hard for me to pass on Amen at 4 considering the guys in the 5-9 range are all interchangeable. You could legitimately make a case for any of those guys to go 4 and it wouldn’t be crazy in my opinion. I’m starting to wonder when Hendricks is going to get some top-5 hype because he’s looking as good as any of those guys in the same range as more time goes on.
I thought you didnt like Hendricks? Or is this more of you not saying he should be top 5 but thinking the hype gets theres?

For the record, I think i have him right there personally.

With the right attitude I think he can be a role player, but I don't agree with the high potential label people give him.

I think Amen would destroy a lot of guys in a 1 v 1 setting.
This is probably true but the reverse could be said also. I could see him struggle if a player came out and played him aggressively and he might struggle.

Of his shot doesn't fall while being guarded closely could really hurt him. Teams already know about the athleticism.

Agree. He would do better in this setting than if they just have him doing shooting drills on his own. Depending on how the draft lays out if I was the agent I might not have any workouts... avoid certain teams that way even if it means going 6th instead of 4th. Team is way more important than draft spot.
Fit is more important for some players vs others. Amen's success is especially reliant on fit since he doesn't seem to even think he needs to learn how to do the one thing that basketball is if you boiled it down.

Tbf, the Creighton alumni getting together for a fun tournament is still better competition than the glorified AAU tournament that is OTE.

The problem I have with it is that some people seem to think they dominated that TBT game lol.
