I think Bufkin/JHS would make a great backcourt
If the Jazz want to draft the point guard of their choice, they'll have to do it at #9. At #16, there are likely a couple guards left over, but the Jazz will be having their choice made for them. So Locke may be trying to sell his listeners on drafting Bufkin at #9, or on making some kind of move up from #16 to get him.
I hope the Jazz aren't determined to draft a point guard at 9. I think we just need to go for the most talented player available, regardless of position.
My thought on JHS. I’ve been quiet and just watched as Cy argued with the rest of the board - but I like him a lot. I just can’t defend my position or explain why. Just that every time I watched Indiana and I watched them a lot, I came away thinking he will be a good NBA player.
Does it say 1996-97 NBA Champions on the back? Was watching a BBC documentary on Volcanoes and in the Democratic Republic of the Congo their head Volcanologist was being interview and was wearing this …View attachment 14578
If this isn’t an omen that the Jazz future is explosive I don’t know what is
I remember listening to an interview with Tony on ESPN700 probably 4 or 5 months ago and even clear back then he said the Jazz liked Jarace a lot and thought he would be a great fit next to Lauri and Kessler.

I guess the question is... Can Cam self-create enough efficient shots at the rim and from 3? Because it's all good if he's actually a pull up 3 wizard and drains them at 35-36%+ or if he can get to the rim on a whim... the question is - can he actually do it? BTW his FTAs are not very high for someone who's supposed to be a great rim-attacker? Or is he primarily reliant on others to create for him? Again... his volumes are not high...In the year of 2023 I think we should understand this kind of stuff. Same applies to shots at the rim. A really ****** player at the rim is similar to an elite mid range shooter. Cam’s ability to get to efficient shots is one of the main selling points and his ability to get to the rim is the biggest thing in his profile. I really wouldn’t think he was a better prospect if he shorted those drives and took floaters or mid range shots instead.
It’s why I like Cam and dislike a prospect like JHS. For JHS to be a more efficient player than Cam he needs to be mega elite at the shots he takes to be better than Cam if Cam was just average. Even in that case Cam still might be more efficient.
Feel the same way. I like JHS. He looks like a player who knows how to play the game and plays it the right way...My thought on JHS. I’ve been quiet and just watched as Cy argued with the rest of the board - but I like him a lot. I just can’t defend my position or explain why. Just that every time I watched Indiana and I watched them a ton, I came away thinking he will be a good NBA player.
Also, I wouldn’t take him at 9. Maybe as high as 12 or 13. I also like other guys more. Like Bufkin, L Miller and Hawkins. I’d be good with him at 16.
OTE is actually a league, not a team. The team the Thompson’s played for is the City Reapers.So... is there a reason why OTE, the G-league team is the only team that's recruiting high school players/young talented players? Why not other G-league teams, is there a reason?
The thing that is strange to me is how so many people want the twins, Cam, and Black based on their athleticism and feel like they can teach the rest and yet are down on Walker. Walker is a stud athlete with size that already has all of the "feel of the game" attributes that are really hard to teach and has just as much if not more potential to improve his shot.I'd be more than happy with Walker at 9, but I'm not as convinced of it being a great fit as TJ apparently is. No concerns defensively but it feels a little light on offensive creativity. But perhaps I'm underestimating Walker's potential on the offensive end.
No, he is asking why dont the other G-League teams (not just the Elite) get these young recruits.OTE is actually a league, not a team. The team the Thompson’s played for is the City Reapers.
OTE is a league of exclusively 16-20 year olds.
