2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Here's another hypothetical. Portland calls you and offers you 3(Scoot) for 9+Walker Kessler. Take it or leave it?

What if I told you you can get Dereck Lively II at 16(or with small trade up using 28) to replace Kessler?
Yes to all of it.

I don't mind that pick. What I mind is what Locke is preparing to do with 16. He's been floating the idea of trading 16 for Jalen Suggs... I think this is horrible.
i'd be tempted to do that. you'd be trading 16 for the 5th overall pick and suggs looked quite a bit better last year than his rookie season - i think there is still hope for him to play up to his draft slot. not saying it's a no brainer, but it may be worth considering.

No, I dont think I would.

Just not 100% sold on Scoot and I think its a pretty big risk to trade WK for Lively. I guess we can say Lively has more potential, but WK just has a lot more feel around the basket than Lively does and we know he's already on a good trajectory.

I also dont know why Portland does it because WK isnt at the level of true game changer yet. He's still a year or two away from being a guy who can really help a team that wants to win right away as a starting center.

Cy laying the foundation to be a defender of the Udoka pick. He always picks the toughest battles. Respect
There is a thin line between bravery and stupidity...

It just makes sense. I know this is draft time and we are going to overrate draft picks, but Orlando is in an unique situation where they need to focus on converting their assets to actual wins so they can develop the top tier guys they already have. I think they could have done a better job at what they did, but I dont hate the ideas.

Lol… some random **** just getting thrown at the wall a week before the draft. I would love that so much.
Wild **** tends to happen... I'd say Bilal at 8 is wild... but Winger came from OKC background and would match some of that culture.

I'd be quite happy if this happened but I would want to make sure we had traded up to 10 already if that is the case.

I have heard Bilal and Lively are moving up draft boards potentially even top 10 and even Keyonte, and Dick could get up there too. I hope this happens and some players drop to us.

You really digging in now huh… you wouldn’t trade a G-League player for Scoot? You wildin.

What they did was akin to lighting money on fire because they needed heat... when there is a perfectly good place down the road where they could buy a **** ton of wood and gasoline and still had change to spare. But yeah they got what they needed?

I mean, they really should draft Gradey with their first pick, but their first pick should be #9.
I was fine with reaching for Dick (unintended I swear)... combining it with the other trade just makes me thing that guy isn't doing a good job.
