2023 NBA Draft Megathread

That's a good draft. I don't mind it. We get our own 2024 pick back. We get Cason Wallace and Leonard Miller... solid draft. I wouldn't mind.
I love Miller... would be quite happy with that. Its not like some pie in the sky home run swing but I think its really solid.

BTW, Mets are playing their game 3 of the French championship finals. Go watch Wemby and Bilal if you want. They lead by 10 early...

I’m of the notion that if we don’t love anyone, we should try to trade down from 9 to 13. I think we can get Cason or Kobe or someone of that ilk there.

I’d consider trading 9 and 28 to Toronto for 13 and their 2025 1st. I don’t think Toronto would do it but you never know. Maybe we’d have to throw something else in with protections. Toronto might want to move up to get someone (along with Barnes) to entice VanVleet to stay while also preventing a future Siakam mutiny like every other stud player seems to enact.

In this scenario, we can still get a player of need and want at 13, would avoid having three 1st round guaranteed contracts on our roster this coming season, and add a potentially big future asset with that 2025 1st. Siakam’s contract ends in 2024. VanVleet is a FA this off-season. That 2025 1st from them could be huge. I know the 2024 draft is a subpar one but that 2025 one has the potential to be very strong.

I will say I personally share the sentiment of Cy and Seattle of being lower on the Thompson twins than consensus.
They are real scary but I have a little comfort in knowing they understand their issues and are working on them... and they are A+ kids by all accounts. Since they are workers I'd be comfortable taking a chance on one at #9. I like Ausar more than Amen but I could see both being very disappointing.

it should be bilal's time to shine. is he doing anything? assuming they are playing rn?
They were both out of the game at the same time...

Wemby is their whole defense. Kinda looks like Gobert trying to guard 5 players at the same time.

JHS is a very good basketball player. The question for me is - can he be an efficient scorer?
Honestly the more film I watch of him the more I see Deron Williams. He didn't put big assist numbers but that has more to do with the teammates he had. Put him on a team with solid spot up shooters and I think his playmaking would really shine.

Toronto can’t trade their 2025 1st but I don’t dislike the sentiment.
