2023 Trade Rumors and Gossip Involving the Jazz

I don’t love it but FA classes are going to be thin with more guys extending.

If we can’t find salary dump deal with one year contracts another thing I’d consider is signing Harrison Barnes to like 25M for one year and a non guaranteed second year… if you are rolling and want to keep him you can even though it’s a one year overpay. At the deadline that’s a player that could land a first. I’d do those types of deals. I love deep FA finds… but we don’t have the roster spots for many or any of those. Go name brand on a one year deal or find a guy you think is worth MLE type money.

Bruce Brown on a long term deal is something I’m going hard at.
What about Porzingis? The Jazz have so much cap space and i know that people are concerned about his injury history but man, the thought of Lauri - Porzingis - Kessler frontcourt is so intriguing to me. When Kessler sits they could even run a dynamic 5-out offense with Porz playing the C since he's a very good rim protector in his own right. If they could just find a legit floor general for this squad the offense would flow so beautifully. What do you all reckon Kristaps is going to get paid in the FA anyways?

Word on the street is that he’s gonna opt-in to the last year of his contract at $36m.

I’m kinda into trying before buying and the Wizards might wanna just get out from that money for a nominal fee.

If it was a “meh” draft I’d be fine drafting a player like Bilal at #9. But this isn’t that draft.

I don’t think Bilal fits the timeline the Jazz have/want, and I don’t think they can afford the chance he busts. Trade up for Whitmore, or stay put and take a more known prospect.

I think he’s an asset on a one year deal so I’m sure they will get something for him. I wouldn’t want to pay a lot but if it was second round pick and some space I’d consider it. As I said im just not a fan of his for various reasons.

I think that’s the type of guy you go for… just maybe not him. I think if he isn’t getting a long term deal from Houston he opts in.

I don’t know what’s going to happen this week but the signs I’m seeing are pointing to something good…

Also this urinal cake that looks like a hamburger patty has to mean something. I’m not sure what, but something, to be sure…

Some names for 1 year deals plus a team option… even if they are slight overpays… this depends on their market being a little less frothy than anticipated

Barnes
max Strus
Jalen Mcdaniels
Josh richardson
Dwight Powell

To a lesser extent a guy like Niang on a 5M type deal… these guys may move the needle a bit in a trade or may just end up as decent value bench pieces.

There's a churro place in Sugarhouse next to the movie theater. They sell whole baskets of churros, perfect for a draft watch party. That's just a PSA.

Someone tweet at Ryan for free churros and not just J Dawgs.
If this happens then Wemby mysteriously drops to 9 we will know what really happened

What if I told you there was a league that was churning out all stars left and right… and there was a prospect who looked similar to these all stars available to be drafted… are you factoring that into your evaluation?

Look to all the Bilal lovers… you have to consider everything… and I promise you every team that is evaluating him is considering the fact he could be the next Frankie smokes or sekou… it’s gross negligence if they aren’t. Doesn’t mean he can’t buck the trend… but I promise you smart GMs are considering the trend in their evaluation of the prospect.
GM's considering trends like this is how you grab all stars in the late lottery or second round. It is how you get Kessler at 22. You get stars late by bucking trends.

May as well cancel the draft. The churro will make us bust every pick. How do you think we traded a pick to the Knicks then they traded that pick for more value than what we got then drafted a second round center to play behind a three time defensive player of the year and allstar all nba player. You know Dok!!! One of you ate a churro before the draft. The churro is evil. Say no to

The Heat and Beal are a match made in heaven. Major step up from a Max Strus type. I can't imagine it would cost too much more than salary matching due to the fact his contract is too huge for most teams to even consider taking on. He's owed close to $193 mil over the next 4 seasons.

That's probably were he ends up. I would think they should be able to beat the Suns offer.
