We had one, and he netted us one of the biggest asset hauls in NBA history last year. Why can’t we ever get the guy that irrationally wants to stay with Utah? Lol. Guess we emptied the bank with Stockton and Malone. Haha

Sometimes nothing is betterYou pay for what you get. You pay them now so they get more return in the long run. You don't pay Kuz & zingis of course you get nothing.
Yes they were late and missed the window completely. But since they were already this late , why not just extend kuz&zingis so they give themselves another window instead of throwing the towel. They were so late that there's simply no point in trading them now cuz they got zero leverage.
I’m talking about the dudes you can really market and are the most popular players in the league like a Dame, or Giannis. Those are two dudes in small markets that seem to want to stay put.We had one, and he netted us one of the biggest asset hauls in NBA history last year.
We traded him to Minnesota. Why can’t we ever get the guy that irrationally wants to stay with Utah? Lol. Guess we emptied the bank with Stockton and Malone. Haha
Not nothing. They still had to pay Paul, Galo, Muscala and Shamet lmao. It's not like they saved any money this summer. Next few years? Yes. But like I said, extend kuz and zigis now and they can still trade them by next year's trade deadline and save themselves a ton, plus a ton of first round picks.Sometimes nothing is better
You read that like a five-year-old's crayon drawing on the fridge sir. That, and them drafting Dick to just go Neener-neener to everyone.Hahaha.. you mean the fake pumping part?
They moved on. Their new GM gets to make his own team. If they did what you want, they'd be stuck in mediocrity for another 3 years. Not nothing. Except they are not? We gave Rudy the Supermax in December 2020 and are we stuck in mediocrity for three years? You can actually trade the guy after his extension. It's not rocket scienceThey'd be stuck in mediocrity for another 3 years.
Okay, but, did you read what I just wrote? I get what you mean but in the end they have been holding their teams hostage. And because they stuck around long enough to get super duper max extensions their trade return value is suboptimal.I’m talking about the dudes you can really market and are the most popular players in the league like a Dame, or Giannis. Utah got extremely lucky they found a sucker at the right moment. That has passed. If youre operating in catch up mode you are going to fail.Except they are not? You mean maximum? Cuz if they extend Zingis and kuz the last thing they need to worry about is the cap minimum lol.You know there is a salary cap minimum right?
We need to remember that Rudy did have other rumored suitors (Chicago, Dallas made sense on paper, etc.). We just played them off each other until we got the Minne deal.Utah got extremely lucky they found a sucker at the right moment. That has passed. Yes we got lucky because we also gave Rudy the supermax. Are Kuz and Zingis gonna get supermax? If you can trade a guy with supermax, there's no reason you can't trade Kuz & Zingis with just regular max dollar in exchange for positive assets.Utah got extremely lucky they found a sucker at the right moment. Rudy was a 3x DPOY with multiple all-star and his team won.Yes we got lucky because we also gave Rudy the supermax. Are Kuz and Zingis gonna get supermax? Would mean they are definitely getting traded lol. Since they still have a week to decide. I hope if we do player options in the future (and I hope we stop) that we move the date up before the draft.Would sure be great if JC and THT opted in today…
Those trades also broke the market. Not just perceptions, either; they materially took two teams’ entire ability to trade 1sts off the board for two years. The scarcer that picks become, the more valuable they are perceived. There’s also a pendulum effect where when momentum swings it might swing too hard. The Jazz trades forced a pendulum swing such that picks might now be overvalued.Utah got extremely lucky they found a sucker at the right moment. That has passed. If youre operating in catch up mode you are going to fail.
The Scout: The Jazz haven’t been quite as aggressive as some of the teams above them in looking to move their third first-rounder if only because they do not have any second-rounders and are flexible enough with their roster that they can house three rookies. But they’re willing to take calls about consolidating pick value. Sheppard has risen throughout the process and is seen as a good bet to hear his name called in Round 1.
