I was all in on getting Ball last year. I'd still do it if they gave up a first rounder. And we’d still win the trade.

I consider him part of the trade and need to see him courtside.Speaking of which, anyone see anything of Lavar lately? He's been a lot quieter than I would assume.
Lonzo MVP season coming.Lonzo is donezo. Bulls have known this for 1.5+ years.
I thought ball was dedOkay I know this isn’t free agency but I know Milwaukee (supposedly) was interested in Sexton, which I thought was oddly specific. Anyway, what about expanding that with Chicago?

I’d hope to either consolidate the assets where maybe Chicago can send something Milwaukee’s way that more likely let’s them relinquish a first rounder, or both teams send us multiple seconds, or (perhaps my preference) we choose a year where we do a three-way swap and we get rights to the highest pick.
Move allows us to increase value of assets, clear the deck for a better opportunity of KG, then take a flyer on Ball where, if ever healthy, would be a perfect fit.
KG
Ball
Hendricks
Lauri
Kessler
What FA are even available for RMLE right now. I think we should pick someone up with a similar structure we did with Paul Reed... 1 year guaranteed 2 years non-guaranteed... just to have some additional salary flotsam and a useable trade piece.
- Ayo - actually like him so wouldn't just be a trade item.
- Oubre - not sure he would go for it but that structure would make him an asset even if he's playing like 15 minutes a night.
- Derrick Jones
- Omer Yurtseven?
Even it its a one year overpay its an asset... so why not?
Only reservation is playing time with him. With the other guys they could be out of the rotation and okay with it.I’m down for Oubre.
No Collins or Clarkson? With that I could see this:Okay I know this isn’t free agency but I know Milwaukee (supposedly) was interested in Sexton, which I thought was oddly specific. Anyway, what about expanding that with Chicago?

Lonzo Ball is never playing again. Why aren't people getting this? If you trade for him, you are trading for the contract, nothing more.No Collins or Clarkson? With that I could see this:
Ball
Clarkson
Lauri
Collins
Kessler
KG/Hendricks off the bench for a one-two punch. I can get behind that.
This is all hypothetical and obviously assuming he can figure out a miraculous way to come back and play at least at a middling level. He'd be great with this squad if he could ever get healthy. No one is arguing with you, everyone knows he's teetering on the brink of ending his career. But it's fun to think about.Lonzo Ball is never playing again. Why aren't people getting this? If you trade for him, you are trading for the contract, nothing more.
Sadly... think the best hope is maybe a Shaun Livingston type revival at some point but it appears he is headed for the Brandon Roy boneyard.Lonzo Ball is never playing again. Why aren't people getting this? If you trade for him, you are trading for the contract, nothing more.
Brandon Roy (nor any other player player) never has had a meniscus replacement. Ball has.Sadly... think the best hope is maybe a Shaun Livingston type revival at some point but it appears he is headed for the Brandon Roy boneyard.
Roy and Ball were both great players to watch... this makes me sad.Brandon Roy (and no player ever) has had a meniscus replacement.
I’m saying there is a real ray of hope.Roy and Ball were both great players to watch... this makes me sad.
I misread it... saw Ball and Roy as the only other players... okay well... if they want to give us something to take his contract and we want to punt the year (dumb) then maybe... but I need at least one first.I’m saying there is a real ray of hope.
Not that long ago, ACL tears were certain death to a career. Things change, especially in sports medicine.
Ball getting that replacement matters.
Agree. Javonte Green would bring much needed defensive depth for us. Grab him if he is healthy and still available.Only reservation is playing time with him. With the other guys they could be out of the rotation and okay with it.
But I think I found the guy (unless he signed). Javonte Green... he's 30 which is old but I think something in the 5M range with the final two years NG would be a nice overpay for him and get us an absolute dawg defender. He had an injury last year so may or may not be healthy but I love him. The shot seems to be straightened out. Can see him being helpful or being a trade piece that gets us a second or two... or maybe you lump him with KO and other pieces to get a first at the deadline. That's the guy... go get Green.
