Wesley Mathews' agent, Lance Young, says Blazers are finalizing offer sheet, expected to be completed today.

No word on just how poisonous it will be for Jazz to match. Second year in a row Portland will sign one of the Jazz's restricted free agents

I'm kinda surprised that it's goin to the formal offer stage. Aren't there some potential advantages for Matthews if he signs directly with the Jazz, rather than presenting them with an offer to strictly match or reject? I hope this isn't some heavily front-loaded deal the Blazers are makin.

They frontloaded the Millsap contract last year. Looks like they'll have to backload the Matthews deal if they want to discourage Utah to match. Portland's stupid because it's either a crazy deal that is above Matthews worth, or it's a reasonable deal that Utah will most certainly match. Funny how two years in a row it seems their main free agent focus is a player from Utah that they most likely won't get.
