Potential Trade Targets

OKC has 4 first rounders this year. I think I would not settle for the Clippers pick. I'd want our own pick back or at least their 2nd best pick if it isn't us. They aren't going to be able to use 4 picks in a crummy draft.
They really have 3 first round picks. The worst of the 4 picks goes to the raptors.

Yeah, the draft isnt great, but it would hurt if the Jazz make the play in, lose out, and have a late lotto pick go to the Thunder.

Especially if somehow Dalton Knecht is available in the late lottery.

Also I guarantee the Thunder take Hansen Yang and stash him for a year or two with one of those picks.

Maybe. In a weak draft there is likely going to be a surprise or two in the late first, and having multiple picks helps, BUT those picks come with guaranteed contracts and roster spots. Not sure too many teams are going to be clamoring for late firsts in this draft.
This is a weak draft as far as star power but it's as deep as most drafts in that 20-30 range. Look at any mock draft and you will see plenty of very interesting prospects mocked 20 or later.

Listened to Andy Katz talk about teh Knicks, it does sound like Clarkson or Brown are going to be it for them.

Said they want a guy who has money for next year and they want someone who can help the offense when Brunson isnt playing. Seems like they really want to get a deal done and they may be willing to deal a first rounder.

Clarkson helps the offense more, but Brown is more of a Thibs guy and is deep playoff run proven.

We have 6 first and second year players that we are still trying to integrate with perhaps 3 more on the way in 2025. I see little need for another probable g league player with a 4 year contract. Lottery players from this draft would be floating in the 20s in a normal draft. A late 20s pick is an ultimate crapshoot this year.

There are plenty of guys 11-20 range in this draft that would be in that range in most drafts. It's the high end talent that this draft is missing. It isn't short on solid role player talent. Particularly when talking about a likely pick in the 11 to 16 range. Also who cares if we already have already have some young players that we are working into the rotation. This team still needs to focus on adding talent and in particular long athletic wings that can develop into different roles.

There's also several upperclassmen you can draft if you wanted a more ready now player.

This is the way I see it

First I want KO traded. Not because he is not helping just feel like there is enough talent waiting in the wings that need some playing time. He IS NOT worth a first for. I am sorry. Might get a young guy who is under performing and salary filler. Maybe a second rounder.

Clarkson I want traded. Just because I get tired of his on again off again play style. He can win playoff games and he will lose you playoff games. He is worth a FRP. Probably a 20s pick but since he still has 2 years left at a very reasonable rate he is worth it. I also figure an under performing young guy too. Honestly the Knicks should offer the worst of their picks.

Sexton is my second favorite jazz player and I love the way he plays. Honestly I feel his energy helps make those around him better. I would only trade if the jazz get back a player that is a higher caliber player in return. That narrows the list considerable.

Sensabaugh could get trade for a good rotational player as a throw in young prospect.

George is a future building block no trading yet.

Hendricks shouldn't be traded unless his inclusion is bring back a top 30 player in the NBA.

Markkanen is not going to be traded unless someone offers a package like Gobert or Mitchell. I would hate it but I would understand. They only team with that type of talent is OKC. So not going to happen.

Collins I just dont see being traded but as his contract begins to wind down he will become much more valuable. I like what he brings to the team.

Dunn is a great defender and a player that could help a lot of yes come playoff time. He is playing more under control and if a decent offer comes sure trade him away. I really don't see him on the jazz in a couple of years anyway.

Fonticchio would have to be a very good offer because I love the way he plays and should be re-signed for a couple to a few years.

Agbaji I like but mann he is in a funk. He is nolonger untouchable. He is one of the reasons I want Clarkson traded so he can get his mojo back with consistent minutes.

Just some food for thought. Keyonte and Ochai might be playing horribly cause they have to play with KO and Clarkson. Man, I've liked Clarkson for years but I don't think he even cares anymore this year.... at least in Utah

Keyonte is a rookie, that's why he is playing bad. Because rookies arent good at winning games.

If you think Ochai's struggles are anything but him you are delusional.

I think KO helps Ochai if anything, but since Ochai really needs good ball movement and/or spoonfeeding its fair to say Clarkson doesnt help him thrive. Ochai said that early last season he felt pressure to make all his shots as he got a very low amount of attempts whenever he played, so it could be that his slump is more of the same.

For George its different. He defers to JC and KO who sort of act as security blankets. At some point that band-aid must be ripped off. It likely wont be pretty when it happens, but it will be needed.

Do Chinese players come complete with Yao Ming level dictums from the CCP these days?
Our franchise’s best int’l player is from USSR so......

And meanwhile Kanter is making regular appearances on national TV saying all the right things but jazzfans know the man is a complete douchbag
