Donald is about to go through some things...

One of the biggest reasons why the GOP is so sick and why so many in our country are living in an alt reality is because of Fox News. This is so wrong. As a Christian, I really wished more Christians spoke out against using our religion and god as a political cudgel.

Fox News and The Rapist are equally culpable in brainwashing Americans. The scare tactics Fox uses are a straight up attempt at starting civil strife. Fox should be prosecuted for treasonous actions.

My question for those who continue to support Trump is how would you know if he did something bad? If the media is corrupt and biased and the courts are corrupt and biased, how will you ever know if he has done something wrong? Like, just pretend and imagine he really did do something wrong, how would you find out?
Simple. Show the evidence. I haven't seen a poll on it, but I would guarantee the results would show an acknowledgement by his supporters that Trump banged a porn star while his mail-order model wife was pregnant with his kid. I also think most would acknowledge that cheating on your pregnant wife is wrong/bad.

Trump isn't being supported because people think he is virtuous. Trump has the durable support that he does because @The Thriller clearly hates him, and a huge chunk of America hates the condescending bullies constantly calling them Nazis, and cult members, and idiots. Most people just want to go about their lives. They want to have good jobs with bills they can afford and for their kids to go to good schools, not schools where only 1 kid in 3 is proficient in math but the school administration screams that you want to ban books if you object to having illustrated gay porn on the elementary age bookshelves. It doesn't sit well with people shocked that a meal at Taco Bell is now $50 when a few years earlier it was half that, only to have @The Thriller crow about how super amazing the economy is and anyone shocked at the rise in food prices is just too stupid to know the economy is amazing.

For Americans who are sick to death of the derision, Trump is a giant middle finger. They don't care about Trump banging a porn star. All that matters is @The Thriller is unceasingly belligerent toward them, and @The Thriller hates Trump. If a conviction means @The Thriller hates him more, or @The Thriller uses it to be even more insulting toward them, then Trump's poll numbers will likely go up.

It is the first time in American history a former president or major party candidate has been convicted of a crime, and the momentous decision left many people stunned.

For Trump, it was just the latest and most dramatic development in a political career punctuated by many such moments - a presidential campaign assisted by foreign adversaries, a chaotic four years of governing, two impeachments and three other indictments that are still winding through the court system - that have yet to derail his ambitions. Trump remains the most dominant force in the GOP and polls from before the verdict indicate another White House term is well within his reach.

SMD. Do better America

He got more due process then any of us would have gotten. He got a jury of his peers and he had a strong legal team. The evidence just had to be overwhelming. Its just that simple for anyone except his supporters. Its the party of Law and Order until it applies to them.

I keep seeing people saying that they like trump because so many people hate him. This is a very strange reason to like someone.

Like it would be very strange for me to say I'm a huge fan of Jeffrey Dahmer because he was hated by so many people. So stupid.

I also see some people say that they like him even more after this conviction. That is also very nonsensical. Getting convicted for something is not doing something good or great. Let's say it was all a sham and trump did nothing wrong and was completely innocent of these charges. Does that make him a good person? A different person than he already was? It's not like he jumped into a raging river to save a kid from drowning or something even if this was all a witch hunt hoax.

He still lies about everything, is low class, still stole from Americans multiple times, still cheated on all his wives and is still a douchebag. Why would a false conviction make anyone like him more? I understand that it wouldn't make you like him less but how would it make anyone like him more?

MAGAs are really strange folks when it comes to trump

Thank you for spelling out what idiots snowflake Trumptards are.

I don't understand, and I am actually trying. There was enough evidence presented in a court of law that a jury found him guilty of a felony.

It's fine for people to not think what he was found guilty of doing to be that big of a deal, but why say that the courts are corrupt and biased?

It’s really weird that some think the courts are corrupt and biased when Trump and his wretched organization have a long long LONG history of corruption and crimes. This isn’t Mr Rogers being found guilty of felonies. It’s Trump, one of the most openly corrupt people in American history.

Facts just don’t matter to these cultists. To them, their identity has become one with Trump. So when Trump is found guilty of felonies they feel like it’s a judgement on them. And in a way, it is. They continue to support/lie for a fool that 12 jurors found his conduct so shameful and illegal that he was found guilty of all 34 felony counts.

Whoa whoa whoa.

Slow down there!

Trump is white and rich. When has a white rich guy in America ever gotten a fair shake in our judicial system??? /s

Grievance sells! Everyone loves being a persecuted victim and finding an enemy (liberals, blacks, college elitists, Jews, Muslims, da gayyyyyssss, brown Spanish speaking horde, etc). For billionaires, Trump is a useful idiot, conservative justices and tax cuts. For everyone else, he is their retribution against perceived enemies.
Reposting for no particular reason…

I just want to invite some of my pro Trump friends on this website to be vulnerable for a minute. I’m guessing most of you are just bored and are looking to “feel something.” Grievance isn’t it. There will always be something to be angry about. There will always be someone who has it better. This feeling of inferiority you have towards those with college degrees, living in cities,LGBTs, Mormons, Muslims, etc etc etc etc is not healthy. Find a hobby, serve in a church, read some books, or be grateful for the families you have. Go outside and do something different. Go talk to real Americans outside of your online community. I think you’ll find that a) real Americans find Trump’s behavior (behavior you’re currently defending) to be appalling b) real Americans are actually pretty diverse, cool, and awesome. Our cities are awesome, the food delicious, and music entertaining. Some might not be great for you to live in full time. But I’ve yet to find an American city that wasn’t cool to visit.

For those of you who are legitimately going through stuff, there’s no shame in going to therapy. There are a lot of good therapists out there. Is your middle age not what you expected? Is your marriage not going well? Do you feel lonely? Finding love and community through the internet is not healthy. Find it through real people and real medicine (counseling and therapy). You don’t have to live angry and defending Trump, a give who doesn’t actually give a **** about you, 24/7

Seriously guys, no need to tag me a million times in one post as a cry for help. I am not the reason why you’re unhappy in life and support Trump. Just go get help now. It’ll make a real difference in the long term. I wish you the best.

why say that the courts are corrupt and biased?

  1. Trump cheated on his wife with a porn star, which isn't a crime.
  2. Trump sought a non-disclosure agreement, which isn't a crime.
  3. Trump entered an arguably incorrect description of the financial transactions on a form that was for his use only.
  4. New York flooded all Trump Organizations with search warrants to see if they could find anything they could claim was a crime and they found this internal-use form.
  5. Because this internal-use form was an official corporate document, the incorrect descriptions could be a misdemeanor but they were so old the statute of limitations had expired.
  6. New York elevated the misdemeanor to a felony to get around the statute of limitations by claiming it was fraud, but it was an internal use document that no one was ever going to see so no one was being defrauded, *AND* for a thing to be fraud it has to be in an effort to facilitate a crime.
  7. There was no one being defrauded and there was no facilitating a crime. Cheating on your wife isn't a crime and seeking a non-disclosure agreement isn't a crime. New York claimed the crime was a violation of campaign finance law, but that is a Federal crime for which Trump has to be considered innocent because he's never been convicted of it or even prosecuted for it. There was no crime being covered up and no one to see the cover up.
  8. Lastly, this was an intention crime which means Trump had to intend to illegally defraud someone. Even if there was some other crime being pursued and someone being deceived about it, if Trump had believed he lawyer was doing what he could within the law then even that wouldn't be a crime. Alvin Bragg tried to get Cohen to connect those dots and Cohen got caught lying on the stand.

That the case is so deficient didn't matter. All that mattered was finding the right judge and holding the trial in a district hostile to Trump. It used to be said that a prosecutor could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich. Now, in 2024, a prosecutor can get a regular jury to convict a ham sandwich if he picks the venue. It is not unfair to see that as a corruption in our system of justice.

I am not the reason why you ... support Trump.
You, the person? No, of course not but allegorical you absolutely is. You were not wrong when you wrote "he is their retribution against perceived enemies". We find agreement in your insight there. Every broad-brush insult allegorical you throws out there causes Trump to rise in the polls.

Again, ****ing snowflakes can't handle the truth and only pretend to support law and order. Enough with the crying and excuses. If The Rapist wanted to remain off the rap sheet he shouldn't have been such a law breaking slimeball.

Thanks for the response. I'll reiterate that I am being genuine in trying to understand this. Specifically point 6 is interesting and troublesome if true. Do you believe the jurors were biased, coerced/manipulated by the prosecution or both? These were people that both prosecution and defense were satisfied as being impartial. You mentioned the judge was, "the right judge", is there any evidence of the judge having any bias against Trump?

Personally I still trust that the people who were presented all of the evidence over many days and ended up with a unanimous decision.

You were not wrong when you wrote "he is their retribution against perceived enemies".

Perceived being the key word and the factor you're not really acknowledging. Most grievances by Trump supporters fall into one of the three categories. The biggest one is perceived, followed by irrational, followed by real ones they don't want to see any realistic solutions to.

I get being upset, we're all irrational sometimes, but to decide that the best response to that is to do stupid things is...well, stupid.

Great post. We just need to remember that all are created equal, but some are more equal than others.

They don't like invitations. I invited everyone to lunch on my dime and got like 3 responses, all non-Trumpers. No one wants to reach across the aisle. Might as well ask for a full reach-around and rim job.

It's because he has become a quasi-religious figure. It's very tough to get people to disconnect from their religion, regardless of how ****ed up it is. Some even drink the Kool-aid and feed it to their children. This cult is no different.

May 31 - Supporters of former President Donald Trump, enraged by his conviction on 34 felony counts by a New York jury, flooded pro-Trump websites with calls for riots, revolution and violent retribution.

After Trump became the first U.S. president to be convicted of a crime, his supporters responded with dozens of violent online posts, according to a Reuters review of comments on three Trump-aligned websites: the former president's own Truth Social platform, Patriots.Win and the Gateway Pundit.

Some called for attacks on jurors, the execution of the judge, Justice Juan Merchan, or outright civil war and armed insurrection.
“Someone in NY with nothing to lose needs to take care of Merchan,” wrote one commentator on Patriots.Win. “Hopefully he gets met with illegals with a machete,” the post said in reference to illegal immigrants.

On Gateway Pundit, one poster suggested shooting liberals after the verdict. “Time to start capping some leftys,” said the post. “This cannot be fixed by voting."…..

……Jacob Ware, a co-author of the book “God, Guns, and Sedition: Far-Right Terrorism in America”, said the violent language used by Trump’s followers was testament to the former president’s “ironclad ability to mobilize more extreme supporters to action, both at the ballot box and through violence.”

“Until and unless he accepts the process, the extremist reaction to his legal troubles will be militant,” said Ware, a research fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.
