Carrington is an interesting name at 10. I have him 13th on my board. I started off super high I. Him but then he fell off a cliff and I assumed he was at least a 2 year college guy so I turned him off in my brain, but he started playing better to end the year and he impressed at the combine so I'm back in.

He's going to be a good shooter, far better than Topic, and his shooting profile is elite in terms of the style of shots a lead PNR guard needs in his bag.

Would love to trade Walker for 9, draft Edey at 9, grab Carrington at 10 (they would be a great pairing), and move 29/32 to move up to secure Dadiet.
My problem is that Carrington looks like a better passing Keyonte, but not so much that we should give up on Keyonte. If we keep both then it is redundant and both aren't great at defense.

Yeah, neither are "dogs" but I think both should be able to get to league average defensively if they work/care about it. I guess they are kind of redundant, but it's not a bad redundancy.

I’m not sure how you came to that conclusion. I think they’d take Cody over him but I’m sure Topic is on their board. Would be malpractice if he wasn’t.
I mean, I'm sure he is technically on the board somewhere, but there isnt an outcome of picks that leads to him being the highest ranked prospect at 10 on their board. Just speculation, but I dont see him as a DA/JZ type of player.

KOC comped Carrington as Lou Will, but I always thought he reminded me a lot of D'Lo. And I really like D'Lo the talent.

Carrington has a big frame for a PG at 6'5 (in shoes) w/ a 6'8 wingspan at 195 and is going to turn 19 in late July. The main knock on him is not getting to the rim and finishing/drawing contact, but I dont see any physical limitations that will prevent him from improving on that.

I know some people are very wary of midrange savants, but it's an important skill to have and Carrington is so advanced at it at a young age it's incredibly impressive.

Utah and Boston are some of the teams connected with Dadiet at the end of the first round, and he is also expected to visit Orlando, Miami, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Milwaukee and Brooklyn in his short time in the U.S. due to his mandatory appearance at the draft combine in Treviso, Italy, the first week of June.

Cautiously optimistic that Dadiet is often linked to Utah

Wonder if Carrington will move up like JHS last year. A little bit smaller, but younger and also didn’t suck like JHS did. Not as cool of a name either.

From a month ago, I feel the same. I think he could move up like JHS but unlike JHS he probably deserves it.

You don’t there is a chance he is higher than someone like Holland or Dillingham or Salaun?

I wonder if the Jazz will show the direction the organization is going to take in the next couple of years.

Example:

If the Jazz draft developmental piece such as an injured topic or a young Salaun. Are they looking at tanking the next couple of seasons?
Will they consolidate picks for a more established player?
Will the draft be ready now for players such as Knecht or Carter? Win now

Honestly, I am ready to win but will understand looking to the future.

Draft a Carter and Schierman and then go and offer Ananouby a max by getting rid of Clarkson. Then go get Brogdon from Portland for a 1st. Take the offer I saw online for Collins to Sacramento for Huerter and Vezenkov

Just will be curious. Hell it just might be a combination of ready now and developmental pieces and then I will be even more confused.

I think Holland/Carter/Edey would all be higher. Outside shot Carrington/Walter/McCain are higher. Also dont think Dillingham is anywhere close to 10 on the board.

Topic doesn’t really seem like a DA guy to me either. Carter, Holland, Walter….those are the guys who seem like Ainge guys to me.

All three guys projected a couple spots away from 10. I don’t see it.

I think we’re more likely to trade up to secure someone like Williams (can’t believe I’m saying this Ferg) than taking Carter or Walter at 10.
