GAME THREAD: Utah @ Golden State, 2/2/12, 8:30 Utah time

Favors?

Was this kid drafted in the second round?

I sure hope he isn't out of the league when his rookie contract is up.

He sure isn't playing anything close to what a #3 draft pick should be playing like.

No impact at all.

3 points tonight? Against the Warriors? Huh? Even Boozer could go off against these softies. He used to look like Shaq against these guys.

I normally hate this reaction .. but, overreaction.

Well that sucked. The bench really sucked it up hard. Guess the bench really needs a point to get things done. They had a whopping 17 points tonight...eek.

Favors is a long term project. Sure he's giving is glimpses of his abilities but he can't get any sort of consistency yet. Don't give up yet though. Look at how long it took Gerald Wallace to develop, and Sacramento gave up just before he turned the corner. It's gonna take time.

What do you all think of Tinsley though? I got here late.
Hard to argue with 13 assists. Just go ahead and trade Harris as soon as Watson returns if the Jazz can get a decent asset. Point is, everyone knows he's on the market and we haven't heard of one single trade rumor. Poor Devin, no one wants him.

It's mental with Favors.
But I also think they're making a post player out of a pick n roll, cutter type player.

Facebook keeps trying to run some secure routine behind the scene with an unknown security certificate, and I don't even have Facebook open.

....unless it's not Facebook.

I really don't feel like watching every Jazz game religiously until we get a person that can shoot threes consistently. Can we get Rush?

Curry is an incredible shooter!

i think curry would be a good fit for us, im not a big fan of him, but he is a very good shooter which we lack, and a pretty ok passer so will be enough for us, curry, burks, hayward, enes, favors is an amazing young core, but unfortunately gsw wouldnt give him away
maybe we should give their pick back, so they can tank and get as good as player, and a few players including harris or big al

i told before, favors is a very good raw material, if you find a good engineer to make him work he will be a precious stone otherwise he will just be a simple player

Karl....special asst.....cough.....

Favors problem is, sometimes he doesnt know what to do on the court, he doesnt give the best possible decision, sometimes you give the ball he makes a quick turn and go to the basket, sometimes he makes a totally weird move and throw the ball and miss it, someone has to teach him how to give the right decision in each possession

A good point guard would take Favors to a whole new level. We need a point guard who can run the pick and roll with him. Then he needs to work on his jumper day and night so he can pick and pop.

people on here are brutal! [sorry, i choose this game thread to rant in.]

we have a bunch of young high draft picks who are showing plenty of good signs in their first or second seasons.

jefferson and millsap are an enviable frontcourt for most teams in the nba and half the people on here want to trade one or the other, depending on who had an off game the night before.

(for me, i'm much happier with this team + jefferson rather than boozer. sometimes he seems to cop a bashing around here but he is a beast and has already carried us a lot this season.
millsap is giving up inches and really competing with guys every night and now people are talking about him as a fringe-all-star. also he is getting no love from the referees and looks frustrated the last few games.)

i think too many people on here really believed cj was gonna be ray allen mk ii but he was a second round pick out of high school who is still forging out an honest and occasionally spectacular career in the nba. and now they're pi$$ed?

the jazz are playing some really good ball but we don't have anyone that is good enough to bring it every single night.
our guys are gonna have off games. sometimes on the same night.

the road schedule ahead will be interesting.

tonight was a bit rough but i'm really enjoying the jazz this season.

Rough 2 game stretch for Millsap, can't remember the last time I'd been this disappointed in his play. He's seemingly let his poor offense affect the rest of his game (rebounding and defense). By the end of the game he seemed to get a little upset at the refs and he also started hitting a couple shots so I hope that's the sign he's coming out of his funk.

Man watching the Jazz rebound (or not rebound in this case) was extremely painful, the starters just didn't have position and the bench when in position seemingly knocked the ball away from each other right to GSW (I think I remember this happened on 3 consecutive possessions) or just had hands of stone and could hold on to them.

Positives was obviously Tinsley, Hayward and Howard looks to have hopefully started getting out of his slump.
