Following Potential 2025 Draftees

His issue is if he is a pg/primary ball handler then the handle has to be very good because of a high center of gravity. If he is a wing the shot needs to be much better as he will spend more time off ball. In addition... he doesn't have a lot of burst. The defense doesn't seem good but he has tools to be a plus.

I loved him when the shot was falling because it opens up a lot of routes for him to contribute with that passing. He needs a lot of work. I'd take him with the Minny pick still but we will have to be more patient than we normally are with him.

Moving him to the wing also might make his shot look less bad. The FT% would suggest he would also suggest he's a bad spot up shooter though. The thing about watching him play live is that you might just get the impression he's a good shooter having a bad day. He takes high degree of difficulty shots with confidence and he's always been this way even on Real Madrid. Unfortunately, when you look down on the stat sheet's it's also always been apparent that he sucks badly at making these shots. Maybe if he's off the ball he can get easier shots and he won't be this terrible, but the more he's off the ball the less his special passing ability gets utilized.

To my eye, he's actually a pretty decent athlete and his handle is holding him back greatly...tough to tell if he has burst because he's either shielding the defender with his body or hanging on for dear life whenever he's actually trying to be on the offensive. If he went from D- level ball handler to a C+, he might look a lot faster....but sometimes it's hard to tell how much of it is lack of athleticism or skill that's holding it back. I don't think he's a Cody Williams where both the skill and the burst are an issue.

A couple of observations from seeing the data this way:

- I didn't realize how young Jase is, kind of makes sense he started slow and has continually shown more as the season has progressed
- Carter Bryant isn't old, but if he stays another year he might be considered a little old, Fland could stay another year and still be considered young next year
- VJ is basically the same age as CMB, which surprised me a little.
- There are a lot of guys who don't turn 19 until after the draft. I'm not sure if this is atypical or not for a draft.

Thank you for this. I was surprised VJ was a little older. It doesn't change my opinion of him; I'm just surprised.

Beringer is on the table for me with the Wolves pick. Centers take longer to develop and he is very young.

Nipple boy (Knuepple) is older than I realized. He looks so young.

Flemming is younger than I thought and is in play with the Wolves pick for me.

Wow Clifford is older. Would still take him in the second maybe with the wolves pick

For those who have followed previous drafts more closely than I have, is it normal for a draft to have 8 guys under 19 on draft night?

Been seeing a lot about Kon being an analytics god. It's not so obvious on a first pass, but his +/- is actually godly.

i agree with Cy. it's not uncommon, but there seem to be a few more than normal that are young. overall it's a pretty normal draft from an age standpoint. anywhere from about 19.1 to 19.8 being the mid-range of age. for one and dones.

I think for me there is a little bit of a psychology thing going on.

If Kon was a relatively unknown guy that came in to the year and performed the way he has I wonder if I would be higher on him?

Thanks.

I remember in years past I would hear things like, "he won't even be 19 on draft day" like it was a huge deal, so that's why I asked.

The idea is that someone who is very young still has a lot of development potential. So you look at a guy like Maluach, for example, who has a huge physical presence and some budding skills. You might give him the benefit of the doubt for being so young when you're trying to project if he'll be able to expand his range, make FTs, dominate the boards, etc. Being young is normally an added bonus for a prospect.
