Al Jefferson to Utah? ...Mark Stein's Twitter reports

Boozer is so much better than Jefferson that it's not even funny. They're effectively talking about trading Boozer for Jefferson. The Jazz desperately need a potent offensive threat that's a big, but to take on a dude with a permanent knee/achilles issue and being dumped by THE ****ING TIMBERWOLVES is a screaming red-flag, forgetting that the Jazz likely will be losing other assets as well.

The Jazz are run by ****ing idiots.

YES! Looks like we've landed Big Al! Now let's hope that we didn't give up too much. I'm ok with a 1st & 2nd, or even 2 2nd's...two 1st's would be a stretch but it'd probably be ok. Getting a 18-20/10 guy at 25 y/o is HUGE for us. This is a much wiser use of $13M than Wes Matthews and Al Harrington. Worth the gamble, imo.

Al Jefferson will have career stats in Utah. He'll get easy looks and he'll get to the line more. He's played on bad teams his whole career.

Knees are valid. But what do you want? Boozer making 16/18/20 when he's 30, 31, and 32, or Jefferson making 13/14/15 when he's 25, 26, and 27? Kind of a no brainer. The only way you can get Boozer's production for the next two years is to pay for the 3 that come after.

Why the hell would the Lakers want Gasol. I mean, if a ****** team like the grizzlies are dumping, he MUST be horrible.

How would you handle the offseason? Be specific. Be sure to plan for the future, while keeping seats filled this next season, while keeping in mind that our ownership does not own Microsoft.

What's the alternative? Having a slowed Okur,KK2 and Fes stink up the court. Don't think of Jefferson replacing Boozer, that's what Milsap is being paid handsomely to do. This is a definite upgrade to the C position and will make up for KOC foolishly extending Okur last season.

what about AK for Jefferson. It would work if the Jazz sent about 100k with him. Saves the Jazz 2-3M and they would still have the TPE....

Solid move for the Jazz, as long as Greg isn't talking about Brewer instead.

Al will put up career numbers in a Jazz uniform, if not only because of the Jazz system.

I like his size and length too. We could definitely play him alongside Sap, especially against smaller teams.

Much like David Lee, being forced to play out of position doesn't make you a player of that position. Jefferson is not a C and is a terrible defender. He's everything everyone hates about Boozer but with a worse injury history and a uni-dimensional offensive game.
