What's new

Congrats to Jeremy Evans, 2012 Slam Dunk Champion!!!

I heard SHumpert was planning on dunking over Jeremy Lin while he slept on a couch. Thank god for Evans ffor saving us from that.

The best dunk I ever saw was Dr J in the ABA-NBA All-Star game, the year before the leagues merged. He was racing down the court with the ball in the middle of traffic and took off from the foul line and dunked it. I'm not sure if he was behind the foul line or not, but my recollection was that he was, and it shocked everyone on the court. They must have film of the game, maybe somewhere online, to see if he was.

Everyone outside of Jazz Nation is dismissing Evans due to many of his throw-downs coming from oops. Oh, what a treat they will be in for, eh? Am I right or not.

He's the 2nd favorite behind Paul George on most of the gambling sites. Somebody should just make the congrats Jeremy Evans 2012 NBA dunk contest champion thread right now though, because he's not losing to any of those guys.

...actually, it was about 6 inches in front of the foul line....unlike Brent Barry's foul line dunk, which was AT the foul line.....and was the winning dunk in a dunk contest won by the only white guy in dunk contest history.....which caused Barkley to say: "The NBA is in total disarray....we need another "million man march"....a white guy has just won the dunk contest!" All that being said, I still think the BEST dunk contest winner EVER, was Spud Webb! By the way, I'll be pulling for Evans tonight, that's for sure!

I wasn't sure about where Dr. J took off, but I still say that because he did it in a game, in the middle of traffic, and took everyone by surprise like he did, it was the best dunk I have ever seen, by far.

Im curious to know if any of these 3 dunks could be done: 1- bring the ball between the legs while doing a 360. 2- bring the ball around behind the back while doing a 360. 3- Throw the ball off the backboard (or off a bounce on the court) and do a 360 then catch and dunk.

I've actually thought of these dunks myself, and yes, I think they are doable. Not sure why I haven't seen them before.

I hope there's less props and gimmicks in the dunk contest tonight...you don't need cupcakes and cars and **** to put on a show.

jump, place the ball between his knees and hold, grab the top of the backboard, hang, release, grab the ball, dunk, hang.
