What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

Okay ... we have Lillard .. Marshall .. PJonesIII .. MKG .. Tjones .. Jlamb .. Sullinger .. QMiller .. every time we have a game, we have a wave .. fun times.

Are these just random players you like or players we should be watching for because the Jazz might get them at their pick? I don't want Sullinger, for the record.

Barnes is very underrated by this board.

Whats Barnes ceiling in the league and who would you compare him to? I'm one of the guys underrating him since EARLY last year. I think he is a better than average shooter (44% from the field and 37% from 3 for his career), but not great. He's not Ray Allen, and few are, but he also has very average athleticism, he's not a guy thats gonna get you even 6-8 points a night just at the line because he's primarily a spot up shooter (and will be more so in the NBA, IMO), average at best handles, "eh" defender, only averages 5 boards at 6'8" in college, not a great passer, doesn't seem to be a vocal leader or spark plug to his team.

I don't hate the kid, but I just want someone to really tell me why I am underrating him. I've said many times, I'm willing to be wrong, but how much of the above is wrong and why?

I think both the Jazz and the Suns would be natural fits for Lillard on draft night.

Damian Lillard's season may be over, but his 29 pts, 10 reb, 7 assts impressed scouts again. I think he'll be a Top 10 pick in the NBA Draft

I wonder if his stock is really that high......Top 10 seems a little much. Isn't this draft super loaded with talent?
Can't believe I missed his last game...nuts

I am completely with you on this one and my business partner is in love with Barnes.

If I was going to give him a compaison I would say glen rice.

Talking BPA in the draft if pjIII falls to 10 you have to take him.

I don't want Sullinger. I am just not impressed.

T jones jumped off that bandwagon a long time ago. Wouldn't scream if we drafted him just don't want him. Maybe because he has proven he is a face up 4 vs a 3/4

I don't remember what my point was, lol. But it wasn't players I necessarily want for the Jazz. So ... ??

I think all of the above is mainly correct .. in every pick there's a bit of gut feeling. I have a gut feeling about Barnes, Rivers, and several others ..

Sorry that I am late to this party. This is how I feel about this list:

Possibly....Not to high.....If he falls.....Yes....Kill me now.....Kill me again.....I'm already dead....Yes

That about sums it up for me.

@Those quoting Chad Ford.

Just a sidenote, but Ford has MKG now at #2 on his big board. This was surprising to me. I asked the scout I know best about it. He said, "all teams love MKG, but Ford is dead wrong. I can almost guarantee you MKG doesn't go before 6." I asked what he thought the order would be and he said, "I don't think in terms of the order, per se, just hearing generally what scouts think about the players individually." <----- whatever that means.

Where is Rivers from that list? If he was on I would add that he is a yes as well.

As I said, I don't even remember what my point was when I posted it .. makes no sense to me either.

Another sidenote, DX just updated their list and much more shakeup than we've seen recently. Just like Ford, they have MKG moved up to #2. Wow, not many people know him better and have seen him play/practice more than me, and as much as I love the Kidd and feel he'll be great for ANY team, he just looks like a 8'ish pick to me.

I have been wondering about the stuff that Ford is saying. I am sure that every team loves MKG, but it Drummond is on the board and so is MKG, does any team realistically pick MKG over Drummond? What about Robinson as well? Barnes? I love what MKG can bring to a team but with a jump shot that is not consistent, it is hard to believe that he would go that high. That being said, if he can improve that jump shot, watch out! (maybe Hornacek can fix it for him)

Thanks for the heads up. I am going to check it out right now.

PJ3 @7
Lillard @13
Miller @14
Rivers @16

Sounds about like what most of us have been feeling/saying for the last month or so.

Again, if the Jazz can land two picks (from 10 to 16) my top two choices are Miller followed by Rivers.
