What's new

O/T Memo traded to Portland

Hope he likes it. We will get to see him alot more now that he is back in the W.C.

Only top 3 protected pick this year for Gerald Wallace? WOW!

So the Nets will lose Williams and TONS of firsts as a result, dating back to the trade with the Jazz. That, my friends, is a terribly run "organization".

The Nets GM should be fired if he gave them only top 3 protections. What a stupid trade if that is the case. I was thinking it was for a lower first round pick. The Nets are an example how franchises screw themselves being impatient. Just think if they had stayed with Favors, drafted Brooks, Picked Kanter or Derrick Willams. Then they would have another top 6 pick. They would be in a new building with a young and exciting team. Add a couple FA and you have a championship team in 2 or 3 years. Now if DW goes they will suck for years.

I am thinking that DWill asked for Wallace and they are desperate to show him that they are serious about building a contender. Only thing I can think of.

Add to that the GSW first we have this year that came from them. Thats what I'm saying, basically 3 lottery picks, Favors and Harris for a one year rental of Deron Williams. Insane.

As you pointed out, they could instead have one of the best young cores ALONG with a lot of cap space. Jesus Christ, how these guys make this kind of money for essentially being impatient children is beyond me.

Wow. WOOOOOOOW. I'd trade Millsap for a top-3. **** me.

The Nets are insane.

This. If D-Will leaves, this GM will go down as one of the worst(possibly the worst) in history.

As of today, the Nets are tied for 4th with fewest wins, and 6th in winning percentage.

Now we really have to root for the Nets. I love watching the Blazers suck and blow all of their young assets. They don't need another one that might pan out.

I think the Nets are just trying to get as many "names" as possible for the transition to Brooklyn for the fans' purposes and of course D-Will. Gerald Wallace isn't much of a "name" but he's still a bigger name than the guys they are losing. I really do think that's goal #1 right now for them after losing out on Dwight. Obviously the lack of protection on that draft pick tells us we have a irrational actor participating in this trade though.
