Following potential 2012 draftees

These highlights don't show much how could you be sold on him just by looking at stats and these two less then informative videos? Where do you get Maggette from in these?

The same way I did with Batum, though if I'm being honest, there was many more highlights of the latter to go on. I said draft Batum, we went Doufos. On some things, you just have to trust me.

I actually DID watch Mitchell a few times this year, somehow (ESPN at weird hours you end up with obscure basketball). I think Mitchell has a lot of nice tools, but lacks the ability to really take over a game that you'd like to see from a top pick. He doesn't do any ONE thing brilliantly and has a tendency to disappear at times from what I've seen.

That being said, he does do a lot of little things nicely and I think could be a Kawhi Leonard type player (maybe more post focused?) with a little bit more upside. I like him, probably not in the top 10-12

A few things...I never said 10-12...maybe we could buy a pick...also he could be a brilliant defender/shot blocker at the 3. Sort of AK meets Josh Smith but at the 3. His length and athleticism would be sick alongside Favors, Kanter, Burks and Hayward at times. And imo, we don't need a dominant scorer or shooter that three. We need a capable shooter which he certainly appears to be based on his numbers.

Off topic. UK seems like a lock for the Final Four. For my boys, it's not as easy. If we do make it though, our path may include having beaten Majerus, Pitino, Donovan, and if we continue on, Calipari, and then any number of studs in the Finals. That would be pretty cool. Personally, Green feels like the best player/leader in this tourney. He has that collegiate it factor that seems undeniable. If we make it to the Final Four, will we beat you? I'm not sure. But I love having a guy like him in my corner. No matter how much sick talent the Wildcats have.

MSU is always tough in the tourney and Draymond is the perfect catalyst for a NC run. I think it's fairly obvious that no one beats UK on paper, but I put MSU only behind UNC in the teams that could pull the W .. UNC with a reasonably healthy Marshall, that is.

Sorry didn't mean to imply you thought he should go that high, just wanted to note that. He definitely is long and athletic and I get the feeling he could be an elite defender, great in transition, and score well without dominating the ball. I actually think he fits quite well on this team as well.

I'm only meh on Mitchell because I don't see us having a pick in the 20's. Of course we could, but I'm just looking more at the 8/9, 13/14, and mid-2nd round.

I guess I just get the feeling that a team like the Spurs will snag him and for years we will wonder how he fell so far. He is definitely a great athlete.

From the really bad highlight videos he looks like an athletic tweener.

He is. He doesn't have quite the range to be a true SF, but he could make a great stretch 4 playing spot minutes at 3 and I think would be awesome on a team that likes to get out and run.

Didnt you also highly tout Xavier Henry and Chris singleton as well?

At the moment I like Beal, Kidd-Gilchrist and Lillard in the Lottery. In the back of my mind I think Terrence Jones still will be a very good player. But who knows what his position in the pros will be.

I want to see Lillard in workouts with good athletes to see if he can defend.

I am lukewarm on Lamb but he deserves a chance.

No on the Perry Jones III or Quincy Miller bandwagon. I have gotten off the Austin Rivers in the lottery in the bandwagon.

I desperately want Crowder from Marquette in the 2nd round.

Terrence Jones will be better than most here want to think .. but I'm finally convinced he's no more a SF than PJ3, Sap, etc. He's a stretch 4 and not a need for the Jazz, imo.

Crowder may still be available in the 2nd .. but I don't think there's any chance he'll be there by our pick.

The Jazz are only half a game behind the Rockets for the 8th PO spot, and they look like they want it. The Warriors only have to drop below two more teams to get their pick back, and the Kings have won their last 3 games. This thread is starting to look tenuous. Hopefully, the T'wolves and Blazers can keep dropping in the standings.

I could actually see the Blazers dropping below the Warriors somehow. I could literally see them losing all their games, they are that pathetic.

I didn't think Royce White would declare this year, but he will. His name isn't mentioned in these 280'ish pages .. but watch out. He'll gain a LOT of steam. I could see Royce sniffing the lottery. (Iowa State)
