What my training and nutrition coaching can accomplish

Haha. A racist homophobic aggressive meathead now qualifies as a decent person?

I haven't gone through the thread regarding the black kid getting shot in like a week and a bit, just because I was tired of the bickering. Therefore, I might be missing out on a lot of posts that seem to have your mind made up on this guy.

Regardless, despite the views of him and Scat (under the assumption that their views are more or less similar in that thread, which is what makes you call him a racist) I don't know if I could fairly say that he prefers on race over another, or tolerates the abuse of one race at the expense of another. To me, his and Scat's viewpoints are views that I consider to be incredibly incorrect, and superficially quite stupid ideas, but hey, I guess they could say the same about me being a Muslim right?

The homophobia does irritate me; however, a person views on an issue as controversial as that one doesn't really justify to me that they are a terrible person. I dunno, I guess I just like looking for the good in people.I am still 18, the hardships of the world haven't ruined my utopian perception of life just yet :)

Is there anybody here that DOESN'T come across as a douche?

Not everyone finds women like Heather hot....but really, when you see them in real life, they really aren't that big.
But everyone has different tastes. Nothing wrong with that.

In the words of the immortal Chistopher Walken: "You're talking to my man all wrong... It's the wrong tone. You do it again and I'll stab you in the face with a soldering iron. Hey, tell me, does your mother sew? BOOM. Get her to sew that!"

Waiting until all the facts are known before making my mind up is "incredibly incorrect" and "quite stupid"?? I'm at a loss for words...

if you really care to know. I have a very good friend who is homosexual. He does know that I do not approve of this, so he never speaks about it with me. He is a very cool dude.
This past week, I went to a viewing of a person who I used to know who was homosexual and took his own life. Very sad. His family are very good people. I don't know anything about their situation because I had not seen any of them in 25 years.

I am however, very much against gay marriage and the gay agenda. I don't care if you think that is a stupid idea. I'm not going to change my opinion because you don't like it.

I do not go around trying to make everyone think that I am a good person. That is a huge problem out there now. Everyone is so afraid of this.
People actually voted for Obama to prove that they are a good person for voting for a black man.
I had a girlfriend recently who bought into all of that malarky. She had very conservative views, but hated to admit it because she was afraid of people not thinking she is a good person.
I don't see race. I see people. I've been alive long enough to see how stupid it all is. Race is an indicator or your heritage. A person can live up to that heritage and be a credit to it, or they can be a detriment to it. Their own choice.
As for the thread about Tray...I don't see that situation as having anything to do with race. Oh sure, the media is doing their best to make it a race war, but I see it as a tragic incident, and I am looking to see what the FACTS are. The facts are telling me that the medai is distorting the truth, and that Zimmerman seems to have been acting in self defense.
When I first heard about it, my first thought was that Zimmerman sounded like an over-zealous security guard who went overboard and made a huge mistake, and someone died for it. I didn't know or give a damn about who was hispanic or black.

TLDR and I still know it's some dumb ****.

The guy is 18. He bought into the liberal media template. Give him a few years to get some real life experience.

You said it, man.

I used to be in your shoes, just like most of us. Life is a bitch, and if you're not ready for it, like most of us weren't, it will kick your ***. Take my advice and try to savor and hold on to your "utopian perception" of life, because life really is awesome, we just let the little things block it out and we forget.

Man, if only I was 18 again, the things I would do...

and the things I would change...

I thought about that, but in all honesty, I wouldn't change much. If I changed too much, I wouldn't have my family that I've got right now -- and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

But oh, I would do a great many things...

I'm in the exact same boat. I would do some things differently, but I am happy with where I am right now. I would not want to change things with my family and friends. I would definitely make different financial choices however.

Other than my 2 girls things are pretty ****ty.

Sorry, the "superficial" tidbit is something that needs a little more emphasis. Again, I have read (some) of your points, and I consider them incorrect. As a result, I might even superficially conclude that it is a stupid notion; however, you are missing the jist of my post. My point is that despite what our perceptions of an idea are, we should not consider someone as dumb, incorrect, or a bad person, just because his views differ from ours. Your initial viewpoint of Zimmermann is something that I still consider incredibly incorrect. Is it though? To me, yes. To someone else? Probably not. Hell, you might even turn out to be right two weeks from now; my point is that we should not base our opinions on whether someone is a "good person" or not, depending on their viewpoints on controversial issues. Does that make any sense? Sorry if my post came-across as insulting, I might have worded it rather poorly

Oh Dalamon. Your pragmatism is a mistake. I love you, but you're way too tolerant. It's okay, you'll learn it the hard way. :)

Aren't muslims generally very anti-homosexual?

I don't think gays have it very good in Muslim countries.

Not moreso than Judaism or Christianity, I would say. Countries like Saudi Arabia are not great representations of Islam, as I have often said.

Haha perhaps it is a mistake, but hey, I feel at peace by thinking in this manner moreso than any other philosophical approach to these sorts of issues. You're right, it might change; but for the time being, the status-quo works for me :)
