Black Kid Shot in Gated Neighboorhood

Would you rather they showed the recent pictures of Zimmerman? I don't know if you've seen them but he has a clean shaven head, and he's ripped. He looked fat in the old mugshot, which some people used as reasonable doubt (saying the kid who weighed 100 pounds less actually beat him within an inch of his life so he had to shoot him).

The facts here, eliminating all speculation and spin, are:
1: An unarmed kid was shot and killed.
2: The guy who shot and killed him outweighed him by 100 pounds.
3: The kid was on his way back from the store, and was only carrying skittles and an iced tea.
4: The shooter was told by a police dispatcher not to follow the kid.
5: The shooter followed him anyway, and even got out of his car and chased him at some point.
6: The shooter was taken to the police station in handcuffs. The lead investigator wanted to arrest him, but the state attorney personally drove down there (so did the chief) and over ruled him.
7: The shooter is the son of a retired judge.

These are simply facts. This is not spinning anything, it's just listing the facts as we know them. In my view, after accepting all of these facts, if your news source is saying he shouldn't have been arrested and charged with something, then they are the ones spinning the story.

I am not defending Zimmerman so stfu. In my last few posts I never argued the facts of the case. So you can take them and shove them up your ***.

Yes, I would rather they used a current photos (Zimmerman and Trayvon) as that would have been accurate. Stop being a douche.

2. is not a fact
4. is not a fact the quote is "you're not following him are you? You don't have to do that." Which is not the same as "do not follow him!"
5. is not a fact I have yet to hear anything about a chase, if he did chase him im sure trayvon would have easily outran him

you should add a # 8. The police report taken at the scene say Zimmerman had cuts on his nose and the back of his head.
I am very interested to know if there was any wounds, other than the gunshot obviously, to trayvon.

How hard is it to spin when you have an unarmed kid who was doing nothing wrong, shot and killed by a man who had been following and chasing him? If anything, the right wing media is doing a fantastic spin job to cast a reasonable doubt.

Also there is no definitive proof that he was doing nothing wrong, just what his family, who were not there, say he was doing. I'm not saying he was doing anything wrong, but we don't know for sure whether he was or wasn't. There are a lot of assumptions about the case, I'm not saying Zimmerman was innocent, I just strongly don't think it was a hate crime, even if he was racist, following someone is not a hate crime. You have to prove that he would have only shot trayvon because he was black, and he wouldnt have if he was white. That will be nearly impossible to do.

This whole thing reminds me of the Kony ********. The more time goes on, the more stupid the original "supporters" look.

Did I ever say, or even hint, that you were defending him? No need to start acting like a menstruating retard here. You said the news outlets were spinning it so I just laid out the facts.

#4: It is a fact, and your quote is wrong. It was, "Okay, we don't need you to do that." That is clearly conveying the point that they did not want him to follow the kid.
#5: It is also a fact. Witnesses have said they saw the chase, you can hear Zimmerman running in one of the recordings, and I think I recall reading that Zimmerman had said as much to the police.
#8: Since you brought up the police report, it is also a fact that the kid was taken to the morgue as a John Doe, and stayed that way for a few days. The police report lists his full name, date of birth, and address. So it's possible the police report was changed after the fact.

Also there is no definitive proof that he was doing nothing wrong, just what his family, who were not there, say he was doing. He was not carrying any tools, not even a bag. He did not have any stolen or even suspicious items. It was confirmed that he was at the store. He was also on the phone with his girlfriend. I don't think there is even a hint of evidence to say he was doing something wrong.

You are so full of ****.
And you are so brilliant. Great argument/conversation/thought provoking post. You can add it to the many in your history.

Go back and read our exchange. I only posted the facts in the case as we know them. I used this to show that the media does not have to spin this to make Zimmerman look like someone that should be charged with a crime.

No, your posts try to assign guilt when you truly know nothing about the case other than what the media tells you. You tried to argue something with me that I never got into.

The pics the media used are clearly chosen to skew how people see the case.

Edit: As for your "facts" go read kennykyles post you douche.

Salty, I've been in several fights in my life. Never have I been taller or weighed more than the person I was fighting, and I have a pretty good winning record. It's always surprising to me how few men actually know how to throw a punch and connect. Take most fights in major league sports. Big, athletic, highly-coordinated guys flailing their arms in the air at one another. It's somewhat comical. Having a good stance, throwing a proper punch, following through with your lower body and actually hitting a guy in the face...works almost every time, no matter how big the dumb *** is getting hit. And once you connect on the first punch it's pretty easy to get a few follow-up punches in there for good measure before the other person decides they didn't really want to bully you in the first place.

Salty,

Why is the ONLY picture of Zimmerman being used by the media?

Why none of these?

Could it be because they don't say cold blooded killer and that would mess up the lynching party?

I agree with what you're saying. However, I would point out that none of these big guys in pro sports are getting beat within an inch of their life to the point where they have to shoot someone in order to survive.

Have you ever beat anyone so bad they shot you in order to survive?

I find it pretty hard to believe this kid started, and then won the fight against a well built man who outweighed him by 100 pounds. I find it even harder to believe that he not only won the fight, but the guy had to shoot him in order to prevent the kid from beating him to death.

As I posted in an earlier post- he looks even worse in his jailhouse video. Clean shaven head (which is just as "thuggish" as a hoodie), well built (not the fat dude that looks like he might not be a good fighter), and wearing a "thuggish" fleece suit.

I think the media showed what they had available at the time. That's why the jumpsuit photo (which is publicly available and I haven't seen it on tv in at least a week) was being shown.

But how often do people who are outweighed a ton go off and attack the other person? I've seen it a couple times at a bar, but alcohol tends to reduce one's sense of self preservation. And in most instances weight does matter in a fight. Skill may trump it, but often people who fight have no skill at all.

If he really took him down from behind like Zimmerman is saying, which who knows if it is true or not, it would be pretty easy to take him down and keep beating on him. High school kids are strong man, they may not weigh as much as our fat asses, but they are in great shape. Its not that much of a stretch. I must reiterate that we don't know what happened on that night. NO ONE BUT GEORGE ZIMMERMAN DOES!!!!! Everything we are saying is pure speculation. I just think we are not being fair to both parties involved. If it goes to trial and is proven that George Zimmerman killed this kid for absolutely no reason then **** him, have a great time in jail. If it is proven as self defense then yeah both sides were at fault and its a tragic mistake. Maybe if black youths hadn't been committing robberies in the area this doesn't happen. Maybe if Trayvon just runs away this doesn't happen. If Zimmerman ignores the kid this doesn't happen. Maybe if they are able to talk without fighting this doesn't happen. There are a lot of maybes and possibly's but not a lot of facts. I trust the justice system, for the most part, and I have faith this will all work itself out in the end.

The problem here, and the reason this is even a national story in the first place, is he is not going to trial (unless something changes). He was let go, scott free. No charges, nada.

If the dude would have been arrested and found not guilty in a trial, we would have never heard about this. And as it turns out, the police who investigated at the scene and then questioned Zimmerman, wanted to arrest him and charge him. They were over ruled by the state attorney and chief of police.

Another thing that really bugs me is how the media just ran with the families story of how great a kid he was, how he was an A student, never got into trouble, could not have possibly been involved in anything nefarious. He was no angel, I'm not saying he was a "bad kid" the criminalization of marijuana is a ****ing joke. But he had his problems, it is not beyond the scope of reality that he was possibly contributed to the escalating the situation. I think everyone agrees George Zimmerman should have left it alone. But after that who the **** knows what went down?

I haven't seen anything to say he was not a pretty good kid. He had the one incident where they found a pipe and marijuana residue, but other than that he had a spotless record as far as I know.

I read an article where he was suspended for having a backpack full of necklaces and bracelets and "robbery paraphernalia i.e. screwdrivers, lock picking stuff, etc ..." can't remember where I read it at though. Don't remember all of the details so don't take it as gospel, but it was something along those lines. He has had a few run ins. Once again doesn't mean he is a bad kid, just means he is not above making mistakes also.
