Official Game Thread: "Uh oh, it's Magic" at Jazz...Saturday, 4/21, 8:30pm MT

Favors won that game for the Jazz today with his pick and roll D on Jameer Nelson at the end. Perfect.
Kanter had some manhandling moves today too. Hayward was out of it tonight, but still hit that 3 like a veteran.

Agree… it's awesome to see Favors out there closing games.

Can't wait to see him in the playoffs!!

Once again Big Al almost cost us the game...his 21 and 10 and 3 blocks were so weak... /sigh haters make me laugh

Als offence was clutch, but it did take to the last qtr for his defence to get up to the required standard. U get the feeling that al likes to have favors playin defence alongside him as favors covers al's mistakes better than milsapp can.

Do those stats show how he sucked the defense in, allowing key Hayward and Harris 3 pointers?

No, what's your point though?. I don't recall anyone saying "if only AJ can score some more!!". So the statements about his points (on 22 shots, lol) are irrelevant.

Hayward zones out when our plan is feed the bigs. He was still 5/7. 12 pts. Not bad off night

Favors was clearly the player of the game for us.

jefferson shot two free throws tonight, which he earned by juking his man and drawing contact. Hell has frozen over. His buckets coming down the stretch (over a tired and under-sized Davis) were his saving grace, because his defense was as bad as I've ever seen.

Burks and Kanter were effective in their limited minutes. Each should have had more.

I think us not rebounding in the 1st killed him too. He likes to get it started with easy fast break buckets, but those can't be had if no one is rebounding.

Jefferson's game is evolving into something that the haters thought would never happen. He is such a key for Utah. I am more convinced than ever that the future of the Utah Jazz involves starting Jefferson, Favors, and Millsap alongside each other. IMO Sap has proven he can man the 3 and that line-up seems to thrive whenever Ty goes with it.

There was a couple of times Hayward was open in the corner for three when Harris drove the ball, would of like to see it kicked out to him!

Seems like the jazz are taylor made for overtime play. We seem to dominate the overtime, due to our relentless attack inside the post. The point I'm trying to make is, overtime is the closest thing there is to playoff style basketball. In both the playoffs and overtime, possessions are more important, more physical, and half court oriented. Might be wishful thinking but maybe this team could be a better playoff team then regular season team who knows.

Dude got it done in crunch time though. You should give him credit for that.

are you ****ing kidding me? Jefferson was such a liability on the defensive end tonight. At one point he was -20.... they were abusing the hell out of him. We won't miss him at all. He's a nice dude, and classy... but I'll buy his plane ticket.

The worst PnR defender in the league who just happens to have a below league average TS% and hasn't yet run the floor in his time in Utah?

I've yet to come across a single person who uses the word "hater" who isn't a complete ****ing moron. ****.

I have to say I'm warming to the idea of not trading Al this summer and play more of Al, Favors&Paul line up and see what they can do next year!

Some post game observations.

- Jefferson is so up and down. He had turrible quarters but came up big again and again late in the 4th including the shot that takes the game to OT. His defense is maddening as sometimes it is there and sometimes it isn't.

- Corbin played 3 bigs in the OT and they all deserved it. Favors' development is so satisfying. Good move and Favors delivered. This guy is a star in the making.

- I'm sorry HH but your boy is just not enough of a passer. Harris is a very, very good player but cannot make championship plays. He left a couple on the court while Tinsley made several Harris doesn't.

- I was worried that Millsap was overused in the 2nd quarter. I was right. He didn't have the same legs in the second half.

- Utah's young players are looking really, really good. Kanter produced and these were critical minutes. Burks the same. Hat was already off but I guess I go get it and throw it farther for KOC. We bring in players that can't get contracts like Carroll and Tinsley and those guys are playing playoff ball. Honestly, that is HOF GMing. Utah fans should forgive him for AK's contract.

- There are many fans that are not sold on our coach. He did a number of things tonight that should make them happy. Tons of minutes for Favors. Huge portion of the 4th to the bench. Tinsley rewarded with closing the 2nd. I could go on. Tonight's game was excellently coached.
