Just listened to it again and I was really struck by these 3 things:
1. Loved the call from Deron. Deron says, 'You know you got a good point guard now?', and he says, "Right?"
2. Not only did he not say something pre-programmed on the DUI stuff, but he even brought it up himself when talking about Minnesota fans being forgiving. Most people would have squirmed their way through it and couldn't wait for the subject to be dropped. It's a little thing, but people who can bring up their failings in open conversation usually have a pretty good handle on themselves.
3. Sincerity. Big Al is genuine. He's tactful, but he's not saying what he thinks he should say. So you come away believing completely that he loves everything about this situation. He sees this as the opportunity it is. And he's going to work his *** off. I'll honestly be stunned if I'm wrong about this.
