What's new

David Locke and 1280.

Bring back Kyle Gunther. He was hilarious and actually knew something about football. These 6 foot 160 lbs English majors don't do anything but bore the hell out of me.

Scotty G wonders if you're talking about his right side or his left side...

I've never understood the Locke hate, he's a treasuretrove of info, and seems to work his *** off year round to provide coverge.

Then again, people opted to listen to Gunther over Locke, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised by peoples priorities.

I'm in your camp 100% - Can't understand the love of Gunther. Locke talks about what I want to hear, and that's the Jazz...

Sorry you're the one who brought up physical size in relation to your enjoyment of their radio broadcast.

Riiiiight.

While you not so cleverly omitted the fact that I enjoy listening sportstalk from guys who have actually played sports.

But cool story bra.

Speaking of which, Gunther has got to be thee funniest man in the history of Utah sportstalk radio. Fact: Bring him back. Bears beats beets and Kyle beats Battlestar Galatica.

Hopefully 1320 and Kevin Graham bring Gunther back to Utah radio.

Just saying what you said. You never said anything about playing sports, just their physical size. How do you know Locke hasn't played sports before?

It's funny to see people hating on Locke while he is out there busting his *** to provide Utah Jazz fans with as much news and analysis as humanly possible on a year-round basis. Is he the world's greatest play-by-play guy? Certainly not, but the guy has a true passion for the team he covers and we as fans benefit from that. I guess some people just gotta hate...
His radio show and play by play are terrible though. The fact that everything he says about the Jazz is tainted by his obvious attempts to kiss the *** of the management is super annoying as well. Anybody who disagrees with him is just wrong. He won't argue it he'll just call the caller names and hang up. Nothing more annoying that a guy with an opinion that he will not defend that is also as biased toward his team as possible. He a master at taking stats and making them fit his arguments though. Not sure that is a good thing.

As for Freak. Yes all Locke does is push the management propaganda. He has never said anything that reflects on the Jazz in a negative way.

So unless you've played, then you actually don't know anything about a sport?

I guess that explains jazzfanz.

You have to weigh over 300 pounds too. That is a huge factor. I mean, how can you truly know about sports unless you are capable of eating 100 hotdogs?

and having been with over a thousand women and have numerous children with random women in various states and get beaten by your wife or long time live in girlfriend

I don't live in Utah, and therefore have really no opinion, but for those people who defend him, I'd like to hear a reasonable explanation as to why he would completely leave out the Memo TPE in an article like this. Either he is pretty much a hack, or he really is just a propaganda machine being paid by Jazz ownership, and they didn't want to remind the fans about it because they don't intend on using it.

Either way, he did a really lousy job of explaning the situation, being that Utah would have to renounce their exceptions in order to claim any cap space. So either he is a hack, or he is a puppet. Not really sure.

LOL, so just because Locke left out a single trade asset in this article, he's a hack, or a guy just towing the company line? What is your basis? I am not really sure how leaving this out of the article lead you to your conclusion.

Is 1320 rebooting locally with Kevin Graham? I had not heard this. If so, I'll permanently remove 1320 from my pre-set station list. Graham was beyond annoying.
As an on air personality he was terrible, but maybe he's going to become a program director and create an alternative to the two hideous drive time programs on 1280. I switched over to 700 yesterday and actually enjoyed Through My Eyes. Is that because it's getting better or because 1280 is taking the standard down so low?

Yeah, right. Just a minor 11 million detail.

Hack.

I like Spence Checketts, but loathe G. Monson. My hope is that Monson is so intent on being an "independent" voice in the SLC market that he bolts 1280 and the Jazz so he can join Graham over on the new 1320. I actually think the entire line-up of the new 1280 is extremely listenable with the exception of Monson.
