How the Mormons Make Money

View attachment 1525

Is there anything really dishonest in this cover?
Why run away from this. When you combine business, and religion aren't you open for debate?
This is one of the big reasons I could not be a member of the church(or any church for that matter). The ability to debate, and question things.

In my book the truth should be examined in detail. The truth has nothing to hide.

Negged.

Keep on hating and sippin the too cool for school aid.

I dont like all the Mormon bashers either, and I am not a regular church goer. I was baptised but quit going in the 3rd grade. My family was very poor growinh up and the church was very generous to us. They fed us for a few years. I know all about Deseret food. I know of a few cases where the church has helped out with peoples mortgages too.

I respect the church and its members even though I am not religous. I love the state of Utah and the friendly atmosphere. I would much rather have overly nice people as neighbors than live in a state with outrages gang problems and rude people.

To all the Mormon and Utah bashers, get the **** out or shut the **** up. It gets real old hearing people hating on this fine state and people. I dont understand if you dont like mormons so much then why do you stick around? Go move to one of those other ****ty cities. We dont need you.

If the church deems it ok to build a mall, its fine by me. All religions can be picked apart for numerous things. I like the positive influence the church brings to our state.

Suck it!

Love the concept of tithing. Blesses my life more than I'll ever know. Been paid back 1000000000%.

How has it paid you back? Genuianly curious

It has been my experience that things just seem to work out. You catch breaks and things fall your way. That car repair turns out to be an easy fix and the mechanic does it for free, you get a bonus from work, you cath a sale on something you really need...

I know it sounds like pure luck but it always seems to be ok and work out.

While I'm not currently active nor pay a tithe I can vouch for this. Things just seemed to work out for the best during this time in my life.

The retail jobs depend on people buying there, instead of elsewhere. Same for the mall jobs, grocery jobs, and parking structure jobs. The housing depends on people living there, instead of elsewhere. IfSLC was being underserved in the retail or housing market, this would mean jobs have been created. Otherwise, I see it as them being shuffled around.

Manufacturing creates jobs. Infrastructure creates jobs indirectly. New technologies create jobs. Retail, I'm not so sure about.
Regardless of how much retail is actually sold, the new mall has a few things which didn't exist before: security guards manning the mall, security guards manning the parking structures, management people running both of those facilities, management people running the housing associations, all of the employees at the grocery store that didn't exist before, etc. None of those jobs existed before the mall opened. Where did these employees come from? If they just got transferred from another location, those new openings had to be filled. Also, I don't know the exact percentage, but I know quite a few of the new retail stores were new to the state. Assuming that most of the people that went to work for these new stores were already employed, the jobs they left need to be filled. It creates new jobs. I do agree that it may not be as many as advertised, but new jobs were created.

I can vouch for this as well. I don't believe it's a religions job to enforce tithing, but when given freely it almost assures the 50/50's going your way. I mean that.

But they're retail jobs. Don't you know that retail jobs are worthless?

I love how jazzfanz has this douchey culture of overstating the clear arguments of others to the point where those arguments become mockeries. Bravo, you've managed to drain everything out of what I said.

Yea it is pretty stupid. Happens in most every arguement on here.

I just compressed what you said into its bare essence.

Tithing is about obedience, not the money.

.. or care.. Share with me the scriptures in the bible that state you 'must tithe or else' (obedience) .. and I'll show you 10:1 that speaks of tithing out of love for brother or love/appreciation for God.

go.

I'm doing everybody a favor. You've been way too uncensored around here because you've coddled the right sacks. Just how above censorship are you? Everybody who has been dinged or suspended would probably want to know since there clearly has been special treatment.

It's really no secret. I am just amazingly good at what I do. Back pockets, and all.
EDIT TO ADD: I'll take your comment about how I reported your PM to me (which made specific physical threats) as a joke.... since, earlier, you posted my Private Message to you on a Public Forum. I mean, what you did is totally cool, right? (also, that's the only thing I've reported... and you say otherwise... cool, braugh)

Ya, that was a total guess that you reported it, and whammo, you just let us all know what a wimp *** bitch you really are. Praise Gordon!

Please, keep demonstrating how little you've thought about this. You're taking my statement about the teenager or 20-something selling an object in a retail outlet as indicative of what I think of the value of the entire retail enterprise. In other words, you're being a ****ing moron.

Continue...

Translation: Ah ****, he's on to me. Quick pretend to say some huge word!
