This is one of the big reasons I could not be a member of the church(or any church for that matter). The ability to debate, and question things.

I dont like all the Mormon bashers either, and I am not a regular church goer. I was baptised but quit going in the 3rd grade. My family was very poor growinh up and the church was very generous to us. They fed us for a few years. I know all about Deseret food. I know of a few cases where the church has helped out with peoples mortgages too.

I respect the church and its members even though I am not religous. I love the state of Utah and the friendly atmosphere. I would much rather have overly nice people as neighbors than live in a state with outrages gang problems and rude people.

To all the Mormon and Utah bashers, get the **** out or shut the **** up. It gets real old hearing people hating on this fine state and people. I dont understand if you dont like mormons so much then why do you stick around? Go move to one of those other ****ty cities. We dont need you.

If the church deems it ok to build a mall, its fine by me. All religions can be picked apart for numerous things. I like the positive influence the church brings to our state.

It has been my experience that things just seem to work out. You catch breaks and things fall your way. That car repair turns out to be an easy fix and the mechanic does it for free, you get a bonus from work, you cath a sale on something you really need...

I know it sounds like pure luck but it always seems to be ok and work out.

While I'm not currently active nor pay a tithe I can vouch for this. Things just seemed to work out for the best during this time in my life.

Regardless of how much retail is actually sold, the new mall has a few things which didn't exist before: security guards manning the mall, security guards manning the parking structures, management people running both of those facilities, management people running the housing associations, all of the employees at the grocery store that didn't exist before, etc. None of those jobs existed before the mall opened. Where did these employees come from? If they just got transferred from another location, those new openings had to be filled. Also, I don't know the exact percentage, but I know quite a few of the new retail stores were new to the state. Assuming that most of the people that went to work for these new stores were already employed, the jobs they left need to be filled. It creates new jobs. I do agree that it may not be as many as advertised, but new jobs were created.

I can vouch for this as well. I don't believe it's a religions job to enforce tithing, but when given freely it almost assures the 50/50's going your way. I mean that.
