What's new

Ummm Jazz in talks for Jimmer?

Linsanity shows that put a guy in the right team at the right time and he can do anything.

All I'm saying is Lin used to be slow, can't shoot, can't get to the basket, can't take a foul, can't pass and just can't score (sound familiar?).

If the Kings are gonna give up on Jimmer and throw him back to Utah, I'm confident that KOC/Ty can find a way to make him work here.

The Ted Stepien rule is that teams can't trade away consecutive future first-round draft picks. Since the 2012 draft is now in the past, the Jazz can trade their 2013 first-rounder if they want.

I'm nearly certain that since the Jazz didn't have a first rounder in 2012, they MUST have a first rounder in 2013. Thus they cannot trade their own first round pick unless they have someone else's first round pick guaranteed.

Do you just hate everything?

"I hate lamp."

No, not really. I thought I should qualify my statement before being labeled a "BYU HOMER" by some dumbass Ute. I have never liked Jimmer, have always thought he would be a huge bust in the NBA, and I still think he will be. However, if there is a time and place that he has the best chance of being successful, I think it's right now, in Utah.

Anyway, I hate responding to your stupid pube face, so I'm not going to anymore. Take that, lamp.

I wonder if they can put a protection on GSW pick and trade THAT?

Like.. top 20 protected or something? Surely GSW won't make the playoffs next year...

Whoa. I had forgotten all about that.

I want to let this settle in a little bit before doing anything drastic, but lets just say I'm warming up to the idea of throwing in the GSW pick in a jimner trade.

do you have any other info/datas or any information else on this?

I never saw much of Jimmer in college (not a college basketball fan). In fact, I only saw one half of a game -- his last. I wasn't much impressed and didn't think he'd be more than a JJ Redick, despite everyone getting angry of that comparison came up. Despite this, I felt getting him with #12 last year would have worked on numerous levels, assuming we'd run the ball through Hayward more and rely on a PG to have some ability to start the offense and to mostly spread the floor away from the ball. I also didn't think it'd be great, with how young our team was at the time, to be looking for a PG that was young, and since Jimmer spent 4 years in college I viewed it as a plus. Alas, he was never available at #12 so it didn't matter.

A lot of my attitude on Jimmer really changed when I saw how annoying it was that the entire arena erupted every time Jimmer touched the ball. This was almost unpardonable. Simply disgusting and I'd had for that to continue forever. I'm a Jazzfan above anything else and having thousands of Jimmer-version Sloanfelds would be unbearable.

This being said, if you can pick up Jimmer at a low price (depending on what they're asking), then you do it. It's a minimal risk. The only risk is the annoyance factor and the possibility of distration.

However, I see Jimmer's ceiling as a slightly lower-profile Mo Williams, which can be a good thing depending on how you run your team. Obviously, however, we just acquired Mo Williams.

Exactly - we can get Mo to tutor Jimmer.

I was hoping this clown was out of the picture for good but I guess the pain and suffering must continue. With Jimmer on this team does he help the Jazz beat the Lakers, Spurs, or Thunder? No, no, and **** no.

Whatever happened to the possibility of Phoenix being interested in Jimmer? Haven't they lost out on their quest for at least three other short (though not as short as Jimmer) SGs? Wouldn't their system be better for him?

Pretty amazing, this state .. some wanted Jimmer at the #3 pick, while others wouldn't trade away a case of jock itch for him.

To be fair, I believe only one person was open about taking him at 3.
