wes didnt see the movie twice yet, was gonna go but had some bussines to take care off

anywho with a complicated plot with "twist turns" people always seem to complain.
i withold judgemnt on it al until i see it 3-4 times.
for now i liked it, second i didnt notice that the movie takes place in about a 11-months- a year. not counting the scenes where alfred sees wayne/selina.

a friend of mine said in banes flashback storie they said something abut bane being born in darkness(eg the pit), so bane might be pure evil
but talias back story sais it proves she was actually the one born in the pit. so yeah that puts a plothole in banes origin. unless i had this discusion with a friend who also saw it only once
if bane wa spure evil why did he help thalia.
maybe bane was also born in the pit of darkness, meaning his mother was also there. so what if what happened to thalias mother also happened to bane. him being pure evil could relate to thalia and thats why he helped her out.
thjere are more discuscion like this i had about the movie some resolved some unresolved until watching a second/3rd viewing.

That also confused me about Bane's origin. Everything about his back story was apparently Talia...so what do we know about him?

Well here's a non-sensical comparison from Democrats for the Obama campaign to use. According to Paul Bedard at The Washington Examiner, the Obama campaign takes Batman's new enemy Bane, a pumped up venom gas breathing maniac, in the movie "The Dark Knight Rises" and compares him to presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, because of the Massachusetts GOP'ers previous work with the investment firm Bain Capital, which Obama and Democrats say was a job killer. Get it--Bane and Bain? Bedard writes:

"Bane" is the terrorist in the new movie who drives the caped crusader out of semi-retirement in the final Batman movie. Democrats, who believe they have Romney on the ropes over the president's assault on his leadership at Bain Capital, said the comparisons are too rich to ignore.
"It has been observed that movies can reflect the national mood," said Democratic advisor and former Clinton aide Christopher Lehane. Have you seen a (comic book) movie so scrutinized?

I never saw anyone write that Dark Knight was the worst nolan had made. Sure, not everyone loved it. But I don't recall anyone on this board really writing anything critical about it. The debate wasn't whether it was good or bad but if it was good or great.

The debate was whether it was overhyped or not.

This movie thus far in the first 3 pages of the thread is described as "epic" "best of the trilogy" and as "worst made by Nolan" and "worst of the trilogy."

Did someone here walk into Ted thinking it was Batman or something?

Bane's origin was never explained. Basically the only thing we know is that was a prisoner in that "hellhole"

Saying you think it's someone's worst doesn't mean you think it's bad. I like all three Lord of the Rings movies, and if I picked one that was my least favorite that wouldn't mean I think it's bad, it would just mean I didn't like it as much as the other two. Same deal here. Not ridiculous at all.

Also, I'd say there are plenty of movies that could be argued to be flawless.

It's different with different villains. The Joker not having a past works quite well (this idea was somewhat introduced in Alan Moore's The Killing Joke). But introducing the origin of Bane (as it is in the comics) then all the sudden saying "oh, that was actually Talia" was very out of the blue, and poorly done, imo.

Which movie is his worst if not this? This movie was rife with flaws. I listed 12 already and have a few more off the top of my head including perhaps the most important which spycam1 already detailed--Bane's backstory and MO, and if I didn't really detail it before, the overall direction of the movie. Nolan's films for me have always been very deliberately paced and have a sort of suave, sophisticated feel to them imo. This one was clunky and all over the place.

And while I am going to see it again today, seeing it a second time won't erase these flaws for me. They're not, oh I didn't like this or like that. These were just obvious gaping holes (for me I guess) in the script and direction of the movie. And Dutch, you're a pretty fair guy actually. But just so you know, I honestly have no problem with complicated or twists. I loved Inception and Vanilla Sky is one of my favorite movies. This movie was not complicated at all--there were simply some reveals late in the game. And for me, it was just all over the place. I have no idea what agreements were hashed out or contractually agreed to, but it felt so sloppy at points that I couldn't help but wonder whether they had to have this done for this summer, rather than next, because The Man of Steel is slated for 2013.

Most of the "twists" were either incredibly obvious that you could see coming from miles away, or they were just WTF moments (giving Talia Bane's origin).

Just saw Dark Knight Rises.
MAJOR MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!! (HIGHLIGHT TO SEE):


My two complaints:
1- Should've been an hour longer.
Character development was a little poor IMO except for Officer Blake...he was probably my favorite character. Relationships felt unreal. Am I supposed to believe that a super hot chick will make out with Bruce if he saves her from the rain, Bruce should've seen it coming. She was a business client, there didn't seem to be any romantic fire before whatsoever.
Also, the movie needed more time to show how Gotham was during the reign of Bane. Along with that, Bruce's recovery was awfully fast for how brutal that fight ended. And why was Bruce going out with Selina Kyle at the end if he is supposedly dead??

2- Bane- Is he a brute following orders, or a mastermind? Wish I knew his real story. They could've taken time to tell that because Bane clearly has issues.


Other than that, I thought the movie was real good. Epic. I don't want to rank the 3 movies but they're all a complete notch above most movies I've seen.
I need to see it a second time around because I don't think I fully understood it. Fun movie and it's hard to keep up with the crazy expectations this movie had.

Opinion, man. I did not like any of the movies in this trilogy. I continued to see them in hopes that they would impress. Saw TDKR Friday morning, got my money back at the end of the movie.
