Big Media: why they all sound the same

I'll grant you Viacom, but the notions that GE (manufacturing giant), Disney (very traditional), Time Warner (Ted Turner's outfit), and CBS (old people's programming) are liberal is just nonesense. If they seem liberal to you, it's because you are so far to the right everything this side of WorldNetDaily does.

GE owns MSNBC (one of the worst at having abias in my opinion). That does not support your theory. How close does GE control MSNBC?

MSNBC might spout off about some liberal sounding thing at times, but the majority of the time it is market-oriented "liberals" who see no problem with allying themselves to big business and deregulation. In other words, if that is "liberal" then it's really a sign of how far the left has moved to the center as well as how much you need to expand your imagination about what true leftist views are (they don't come from MSNBC).

The political elite swing pretty easily from party to party. They let the elected representatives do the pussycatting and giggle when we fall for the drama.

In this sense I am saying liberal bais in the fact that MSNBC seems to have a need to attack the right any chance they get.

dude, calm down. There is no way they attack the right more than Fox&co. attack anything that isn't currently praying or attacking the State. I hate MSNBC just as much, so I see your point.

I agree that MSNBC is liberal. The point being addressed was that it was liberal because of a liberal parent company slanting the entire media empire liberally. If you agree that GE does not closely control its media entities with regard to a liberal/conservative tendency, than we basically agree here.

I wasn't surprised one bit at PearlWatson's post here.

So is SiroMar actually admitting that mainstream media is a joke finally?

Um, I never defended the mainstream media. I don't consider what they do news. However, we agree on this issue for the wrong reasons. I do because all the evidence and rational analysis point toward "business, not news". You do it because of a fantasy about a world by run puppeteers who are hiding behind every corner trying to get you. In other words, you hate them simply because they're mainstream. You just love the conspiracy. Your mind is too dependent on it. It can be an organization that does nothing but feed the hungry, and you'd jump on them for secretly poisoning their food.

I do not agree or disagree. I do not know how closely GE controls its media companies. I was just pointing out that at face value GE owning MSNBC paints GE in a liberal light.

I never ever said Fox News didn't attack the left. They obviously do. I have likened MSNBC to Fox numerous times on here. Also how did I ever give you the impression that I was riled up? No caps, swear words, insults or anything else.

I'm not sure where I got the riled up. haha.
They are both noise makers. It's almost stupid to engage with either of them on the level of substance.

On that we agree completely. I think CNN has the most "news" of any of major sources. However the news agencies in general are a pathetic sham. They simply exist to reinforce one bias or another.

What advantage would there be to GE to promote liberal politics? Do you see Universal Picture or Focus Features as liberal? Is NBC liberal overall, or just that component? Using one small property as a respresentative to the network seems iffy.

I was just commenting on GE owning MSNBC makes them look liberal on the surface. Wether they actually are or not I do not know. You are reading to much into what I said. I was mearly commenting that owning MSNBC makes them appear liberal at first glance.

Is GE liberal? Let's look into that.

After a GE image search I found this criticism:

Interesting.
Because every article you've ever sited to, towards any article I've ever sited has been mainstream media.
So you do agree that mainstream media's only obligation is to make money for their shareholders correct? The news means nothing to them.
Interesting fantasy of puppeteers huh?

Builderberg Group?

The Council on Foreign Relations?
Members include some of the most esteemed founders of the biggest companies ever founded in history.

They continue to praise world government progress.

On yeah..... and the term "New World Order" was coined by these people, not by so-called "conspiracy theorists"

We can move onto to the Trilateral Commision and the U.N. agenda if you like.

The less choices we have the worse our culture becomes. Giant corporations have, and continue to kill our culture.
Democrats, and Republicans have both had their hands in deregulation, and both share the blame.

Thanks to giant corporations there's less creativity, and less taking chances. This is killing our music, movies, and ****ing souls.

I feel sorry for our kids. Our parents got the 60s, and some of us had the early 90s. Although the 90s alternative movement was short lived,
it was real, and powerful. I'm glad I got to experience it. I hope someone new comes, and shakes up things. No more (or less sequels), remakes, nickleback, and Maroon 5.
