for comparison's sake, in 2009-10, mo's cavs were 18th in fast break points and in 08-09 they were 15th... and that was when he was playing with the most dangerous open-court player on the planet. the 2011-12 clippers were a LOT worse than you'd think, but it's hard to pin that on mo since he mostly played SG, and since he switched teams midway through 2010-11 i don't have stats for that year.
the lebron/mo cavs had the 25th slowest pace of play in both 2009-10 and 2008-09.
so all i'm saying -- and again, i KNOW mo has other strengths -- is that we're not gonna see as much push-the-ball-at-the-defenders'-backs play with mo.
I don't disagree that Mo will probably do worse in the fast break. And I agree Harris was successful often in fast breaks, but that's because he kept the ball a lot. But I don't think Harris was the answer either. Also you have to consider into that stat that Harris didn't play starter minutes for us all the time. Like I was saying, Harris is a good finisher. So he had that going for him. But I noticed far too often that he went for his own shot. The team would be much better off if we had a guy who was looking to pass more often than not. I can't tell you how many times I was pissed off at him for not giving it up. If you have your guys running with you, them you need to get everyone involved. It's better for team energy. Anyways that's just how I seen it. Maybe I amplified it by focusing on . I don't know.
On topic of another player, namely Raja Bell, we won't be missing him on the fast break either. Every time on a fast break, he would spot up for a three. Drove me freaking nuts. It would screw our fast break all up. Plus the guy wouldn't push either.
