Whose Gaffe is worth?

These kinds of "gaffes" are somewhat perplexing to me.

I don't understand what the problem is with Obama's statement at all. It's not fundamentally different from his 2008 campaign theme of change coming to Washington rather than coming from it.

Similarly, I thought Romney's was a rare moment of honesty as to what the dude really thinks of those that are demographicaly solid democrats. If that was some kind of a surprising gaffe then I don't know what candidate people thought they were dealing with. I guess I just want a "gaffe" to include new information in some way.

In my mind, a "gaffe" is when John McCain revealed he didn't know a damn thing about economics when during a live debate he winged a question about the economic collapse by saying that he'd institute a government wide spending freeze. That's revelatory. That's the kind of thing that tells you a person's hobby horse has completely consumed their understanding of whole branches of policy. The Romney and Obama statements aren't even eyebrow raising by comparison.

I am not bothered by them either. Both are straight forward statements. The problem lies in the way that the opposing side twists them till it seems like they advocated eating babies or something. Then gullible voters are swayed and someone gains or loses ground in the polls.

Barring a major world event or another economic collapse I don't think this election is particularly close. It seems the most likely scenario is Obama getting somewhere around 330 electoral votes. While the popular vote numbers make it seem like it shouldn't be that big a margin, it appears that's where we're headed.

What I'm saying is that it's probably not even worth bothering paying attention to the ground level tactics and the day to day at this point.

That is false.
Could you clear up the question of whether you are a liar or just an idiot?

So having an opinion makes someone a liar? Then I guess this version of Trout is a liar as well as stupid.

Wait Trouteast don't run off.

Or maybe I should say Northbum.

The party is just getting started.

Did I miss something?

Scat and I caught Troutbum slipping and replying in his Northeast persona as Trout. It was an obvious error. Then this morning his attack on Kicky sat wrong with me so I blasted his charade whide open.

Kicky in no way needs me to stand up for him but it is a character flaw of mine. I almost always speak out.

This election is over. Obama is pulling away, and of course Romney will go down in flames at the debates.

It`s kindof crazy here in North Louisiana - 98% of whites will vote for Romney, 98% of blacks will vote for Obama.

What thread was that in?

So honest question.

Do you think that whites not voting for Obama are racist? If so are the blacks not voting for Romney racist?

I do not remember. It was like two weeks ago. I didn't say anything because I find his Northeast persona fun. But like I said his going after Kicky so fast like that doesn't slide with me. Just annoyed me.
