What's new

Game #6 - Utah Jazz @ Denver Nuggets - Nov 9 - 8:30 PM MST

Had a blast at #n9 with PKM, Zulu, Chris-L and UGLI. I want to do it again.

I'm blaming these bad losses on the fact that Steve Brown is doing the television commentary. He is so bad.

One guy who has played like a## on these losses and has not had any backlash is Marvin. Much like Al, engaged when the team is playing well, checks out when they aren't.

he's at 17% 3pt shooting on the season... what happened?

I didn't see the game, but it appears that Favors and Kanter basically were too much to handle for Denver, Hayward was good, the veterans sucked, and the Jazz got otherwise embarrassed. You couldn't ask for a better evening if you want to see the team move on.

Too bad Burks had a chuck-storm moment. Still waiting to see Corbin manage a player issue the right way one single time.

What a sad game. It was first full Jazz game I was able to watch, wish woulda done something else.... Only Hayward, Favors and Kanter played somewhat decent, rest was just horrible. I can understand missing shots, but to be so lazy on defense and boxing out? Passing was just atrocious, how many unforced turnovers we had? They will be lucky to make playoffs.

Not really... they got their asses kicked same the rest of the team as well. They scored better then starters and got some blocks but still got outhustled, outrebounded and outplayed in general.

I think I'm gonna take a break from the Jazz until December. They have been completely pathetic on the road and I think the Lakers gave us the last win so they wouldn't have to play the Princeton offense.

Who could have imagined this team would be so hard to watch?

I think we all expected this much. I mean... Really. I don't think any of us are surprised.

Big Al and Millsap are still starting, Ty Corbin is still the coach, and this is the exact repeat of last season and the season before that.

We have NO identity.

Are we a post up half court offense? We don't have the (starting) post up players to do that. Big Al just isn't a good go to post up player as he never gets to the FT line, rarely passes, and needs a ton of shots to score points.

Are we a run and gun team? If so, we need to get a hell of a lot faster and use our athletes. No more Big Al and it's time to get serious about using Burks and Favors.

Who is our franchise player? Who is our g2 man? Who other than Mo and Burks can create? who can consistently shoot from the outside? Who can consistently score?

Everyone wants to compare us to a young OKC team. However... They had 2-3 franchise players who could all be go to men. We have no one.

The game speaks for itself. I can compare it only with one thing, with Denver's jerseys.

I thought that Favors and Kanter both played very solid games. So solid that there is no reason they are getting a single minute less than Millsap and Jefferson.

I agree. Favors and Kanter can only get better. They need to be playing more than they are now.
I'm ready for the youth movement to take over. So what if we lose, at least they are trying. Its like a teaser now to have to see what they are capable of only to have them pulled for the vets, who come in and play worse and take the majority of the minutes.

Just a pathetic effort. When we traded for AJ I said the Jazz gave up too much, well last night showed it. I am done with Jefferson. It is time to trade his lazy butt and let Favors play. The whole starting unit minus Hayward played like crap. I only watched until halftime because I couldn't take watching a team who seemed to not care at all.

I know it's only 5 games but I've never seen a more stark contrast with this team at home as opposed to on the road. There have always been differences because Utah is traditionally such a good home team - but it's never been this bad.

The players, to a man, look completely different on the road. And I'm not just talking skill level - attitude, body language, energy..... everything. And it seems to be getting worse not better.

And two of those four losses (Memphis and last night) were against teams that didn't bring anything close to their A game. Memphis slept walked through a good chunk of the game and then turned it on the last 15 minutes or so. Denver played abysmal basketball most of the first half last night. The only problem was Utah was much, much worse.

If Kanter can continue to play like he has in the last two games, then I think the Jazz FO needs to get rid of Millsap and Jefferson or at least Jefferson. Millsap is a nice third big, end of story. Kanter and Favors play such great D together that a lineup of Kanter, Favors, Williams, Hayward, Williams would do just fine, particularly with Millsap and Foye on the bench. Favors and Hayward must play big minutes at least 36/game. Make a move FO.

Corbin "found" his team in the 3q against the Spurs, when the starters outscored them by 19 and tied up the game. Ty is going to stick with that group until told not to.

Ty is not developing the youngs. To him they are only backups. And what is this coach staff doing with Burks? He has been atrocious this season. Sure, some is on him but some is on them as well.

Also, I heard the new GM Lindsey on 1280 yesterday. I hope he is good but I heard some things that I did not like. He seems to have bought into totally the team tradition of Jerry Sloan and "Jazz basketball". I wanted to hear that he was bringing in some "Spurs basketball" and the ways of Pops. Also, a couple of items he mentioned that the Jazz value were patience and toughness. Could be a long road jazzfanz.

As a whole, the team effort was pathetic. I think that there were some guys that don't fit that description. Favors, Kanter, Hayward (mostly in the 3rd quarter) and Mo Williams.

The most disappointing players in no particular order were Jefferson, Tinsley, Burks, Millsap (except for a brief period in the first quarter) Marvin and Foye.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but the point of playing the vets large minutes is to teach the young guys what it takes to win. From what we have seen on the court on the road it is the children leading the vets. If we are going to lose no matter who we play then why are the youth not getting 30+ minutes a game? It is beyond frustrating. I am not a violent man but in the 3rd quarter I wanted to throw my remote through the television whenever Jefferson got the ball. There is not excuse at this point.
