Game #9 Utah Jazz @ Boston Celtics - 11/14/12 - 5:30 PM MST Root Sports

Glad the Jazz gave themselves a chance to win the game.

I didn't realize Tinsley only played about 10min. it felt like an eternity he was playing sooooooo poorly. Celts put a big line up with Pierce at SG and Green at SF and they both have 4" to 5" on Foye somebody needed to give him help and no one did. They did this shortly after Foye hit 2x three's and started to look like he was going to go on one of his runs.

I was upset with how Mo and Paul finished the game but at least Paul's jumper was wide open and what should've been a easy layup. However last game Mo did differ and setup shots for other players so it's not like he is constantly just looking for his shot, but those jumpers where contested and not good shots IMO. Mo and Paul played the most minutes in the 3OT game and played a lot last night so I think their legs just started to wear down from that and we saw the results.

I would also like to see Burks get Tinsley's minutes and play Foye at the one, but Burks like Kanter who looked good in the preseason has not looked too good in his very limited minutes also has inexplicably went 1 for 5 (20%) from the FT line so far this year.

I think the thing that frustrate me must about Corbin is that he doesn't utilize Hayward enough on the PnR. Every time Hayward comes off the PnR he makes a good decision. Unlike Mo Williams who is best utilized as a SG who brings the ball up the court. Why does Corbin only run 2-3 plays a game with Hayward on the PnR? Makes no sense.

Foye is a terrible, terrible defender as well and honestly can't justify the minutes he gets just because he gets hot now and then. Not to mention he's got terrible shot selection that often results in a fast break going the other way. He should only be playing against bench players.

I agree completely with both of your points.

Hayward needs to be running the pick and roll more often.

Foye needs to play less and only when he isn't a defensive liability.

Tinsley just needs to sit on the bench.

I'd be fine with Foye if we didn't have Burks. He's a decent vet. He isn't winning us any of these road games though.

Shouldn't we see what Burks has before we ruin him?

Anyone else notice that Barbosa and Greene got the, "Subway Sub of the game"? How pathetic is that?

Anyone else notice that this was a good game, and fun to watch and that the Jazz were in it the whole game?

That was cool. Yes, it would have been nice if they had won it, and Favors should have been the Sub of the game.

While he didn't make most of his shots, he was awesome. Should have had over 30 mins. Dude changes games.

Now if Mo will just get the ball to the right guys at the end of games, that would be awesome.

This team is going nowhere with the Mo Show. I'm so sick of the dude calling his own number. And he has no idea how to get guys into sets or exploit mismatches on the floor. Ty has to step in, but I don't think Ty knows what he's doing anymore.

Our offense actually showed minor improvement last night. At least, we saw guys coming off the baseline screens for jumpers (not that I'm really thrilled with the concept.) But we still don't have a clue what to do when those first cuts don't produce shots.

More depressing is A) nobody moves when the ball goes into the block; B) There were less than 5 cuts to the basket without the ball all night. I have no idea how this isn't being seen on film, or what is actually being coached. But Millsap routinely cuts to the basket so at least somebody thinks it's a good thing to do.

The Mo PnR is quickly becoming my most hated play. It's reaching Boozer fadeway levels. You expect bad, and wincingly smile when anything good happens.

I love Tinsley's court vision but the fact is he just can't guard anyone. Last night he tried to grab Barbosa's shrit on a drive and missed.

You know you're slow when you can't even intentionally foul any more.

not to mention he isnt a scoring threat... the guy cant even shoot, soooo the pg defending him just stands back and waits for him to driblle and pass... he has good court vision. he would make a better coach then player at this point. i think it so strange that we have two back up pgs that cant shoot the ball for crap.. aka tin tin and watson.

That's why Foye must be the backup pg and Burks backup sg. At least Corbin must try this a couple of times.

I don't hate Corbin as much as the vocal majority seem to and he did try it in Memphis I believe and they played horrible but that was with Evans playing the 3. Point being I would like to see it as well especially with how bad Tinsley has been playing the last few games.

You realize that playing someone for 5 minutes every 10 games does NOT count as "I gave you a chance and you failed". Right? The NBA is very tough and younger players need to play A LOT of minutes to even hope to touch their potential. Kanter will never be an elite player playing 14 mpg. Never. And the damage that is being done to Burks can last his entire career. Young player need minutes, and sitting on the bench for years on an end inflicts permanent harm to their development.

I do not hate Corbin. I think hating him is stupid.

However I do beleive that he is not the right man for the job. He will never be a coach of the level that the jazz need to reach a championship.

No sense trying to get the right players if you knowingly keep the wrong coach and staff. I liek Corbin, seems liek a nice guy. But I don't want a nice guy. I want the right guy.

All that needed to be said here. This!

The trouble with this approach, for Corbin, is that a coach that develops 4 players at the same time is developing them for the next coach.

That's assuming the management is either oblivious or indifferent to the problem, and that they just hope to stay good enough to compete for that last playoff spot on the cheap. Nobody is expecting the Jazz to go 60-22 with all the young players getting full time minutes. We expect them to take a season or two of playing together to get to the same level (marginal playoffs team). But the potential payoff is FAR better than what we currently have.

If the management is indeed forcing Corbin's hand, then the whole point is moot. This is the product they are willing to offer and things are working as intended. I can accept that. The NBA is the only sport I follow, and the Jazz is the only team I care about. I'd just focus on my other interests, and life goes on.

I was more speaking towards Burks low playing time then Kanter's at least he gets some minutes each game and the last 2 games Kanter has been erratic, looks like he's forcing again, he's probably just trying to hard. But with the way he's played the last 2 games I was okay (in this case) of his low minute total.

As for Corbin I get just as mad at him as I did with Sloan but without the benefit of the doubt because of what Sloan had accomplished. So I can't say one way or the other if he is a long term coach or not, I am of mind that since this team wont be ready and is growing for a couple of years I can understand that the Jazz FO is allowing Corbin the same time and room to grow as a HC.
