Skiles or corbin?

Who would you rather have as head coach?

Scott Skiles is a mediocre coach who has been a mediocre coach for a while now.

Corbin is mediocre, but I think shows signs of progress. There is still hope for Corbin. Skiles is a proven meh.

Kinda like you and me vs. Ashley armchair, i.e.

Skiles is pretty good. Made the playoffs several years with the Bulls before Rose came along, backed only by Ben Gordon, Kirk Heinrich, and Luol Deng.

I like Skiles. But that comes from watching him play in college .. tough as nails. No opinion otherwise... sorry for crashing the 'who's the worst coach' party.

Neither.

Skiles hasn't won anything anywhere. If you look at his numbers in Phoenix, Chicago and Milwaukee, it looks like he'll get his team to play well for a little while and then the bottom falls out. Considering Skiles is an old school coach who isn't afraid to criticize his players, this tells you that the players probably just tune him out after a while.

He may be better than Corbin but I doubt he'd get much more from this team.

Skiles would probably do better coaching in college.

While this may be true to a degree, he gets results: His teams DEFEND (even ones without great defensive talent). What do the Jazz do that reflect good coaching?

I know everyone is just hoping that Ty or whatever entry-level bumpkin will turn out to be the next Popovich or whatever, but that's not going to happen.

I am curious. Do you possess the human gene that allows one to ponder things one doesn't yet have? You seem very homerish, lacking the ability to constructively question the current hand that is dealt.

No hate, just sincere curiosity.

Says Mr. Kentucky

Right. Then we can fire our coach every other year and join the coaching carousel.

When you have the worst coach in the league. Pretty much any other option and the grass is actually greener.

A coach who can't get a team with Jennings, Ellis, Gooden, and Illyasova to score? Sounds like a plan.

Skiles is done for 5 years 'till a desperate team wants to give him another shot.

Just becausse Skiles benched your compatriot Ilyasova ?

Oh my, that dude was awful this season...

It's not about my man, about the history. He always gets the job done in his 1st year coaching but after second year all players wanna escape of him due to his discipline ways and then he fails really bad. No communication with his players, no flexibility and too stubborn to make changes needed. Just ask suns, Bulls or Bucks fanz.

If he´s such a disciplened coach, why he was giving Jenning and Ellis a fool's license to chuck, just as they want ?
Your Man Ilyasova had a hard time to play with a player like Jennings, but he was able to get out of his self, to show at least a bit of "Ersanaty" during the middle of the last season. But After Ellis also arrived he already began to sink slow but steady.

The Jennings+Ellis duo scored almost 40 points per game with 40 percent from the field. Oh my, Milwaukee is an awful team to watch. I think Skiles was a really bad coach.

Ha when I saw this on ESPN yesterday my first thought ohhh how some on JF would be clamoring for him. So let me get this straight you don't want re-tread veteran players but a triple re-tread coach is cool? Glad to see you stick to you guns and or agendas.

With that said when I first heard it I did think (someone already posted the same) that I would love him as an assistant coach if he could swallow his pride and take a asst coach position.

What makes you think that ? Im a native from Ruanda who is living in Germany. BUT, I have many friends here who are turkish and we are going to eat Kebab with them and playing soccer.
BUT, you are a turk right ? Can you say to me what´s the meaning of that is ???
"jeramin utschu" ????
