What's new

#49 Seattle Kings @ Utah Jazz Monday 7pm

They squeaked out a W because they squeaked out a mediocre (enough) game. Enough seems to be their strategy & their goal. Oh! Here comes another scintillating post-game interview with Ty!

What is Corbin thinking putting Foye on Evans. That is the last person Foye should be guarding. Was proud of Foye's effort on Evans. Thought he played hard even though he was over matched big time. Again what the hell is Corbin thinking.

Biggest lie of the night?

Foye- "The starters just didn't bring it tonight to start the game like they normally do."

Or is Foye trying to fool himself?

Thanks god they got lots of chuckers.

Salmons ; 3-12
Jimmer ; 0-5
Thornton; 1-9

Those "three muskeeters" combined 14 points on 26 shots.

Foye is constantly getting matched up with a player who should (and often does) destroy him, but he always gives good effort on defense.

To start the season i was mad that foye was playing so much and taking minutes from burks..... Foye and especially demarre have won me over big time...... now if only watson, big Al and marvin could.

What a game!

I thought that 3 at the end of regulation by Al was money!

Glad we were able to put them away in OT!

Other then the turnoverathon thought the Jazz played a good game, when Al was on the bench. Favors was good Marvin had a couple big plays, Burks and Foye played well. The JYD did some nice things.

The jazz shot 53% 58% from three, 25 assists, 8 steals and blocks. The two things I didn't like was Al's 17 shots for 15 points and the 21 turnovers.

FishonJazz--Fans in bright green shirts = empty chairs.

Ellipse--Here is another doggie land mine for you, Jazz have already shown they can't develop Kanter, why not ruin Robinson too? Atleast Robinson would know what to do when he got the ball 4 ft from the basket.

If Corbin drew up the Al for Threeeeeeee...oops Play he should be fired.
I'm sure the play was Al iso on the block. Where is the option 'b' when Al can't get position like has happened the last umpteen times down the floor? We spent 16 seconds with Al and Foye back and forth trying to get Al position right where the ball was in-bounded. Truly a disgrace to everything that Jazz Basketball stands for.

Fortunately the Jazz did not further the definition of insanity in OT and pulled it out.

Glad to see Favors continue to produce. He's going to be incredible at 35 minutes a game. Get ready for double doubles with a block or two every night.

Burks showed that at the very least he can play positively! He was really good tonight, even if long-term there is no way he's a PG. Showed a much better understanding of not taking too many shots but playing within himself and the offense. Easily his best career game.

Liked seeing Alec Burks play and shoot with confidence. Good adjustment finally letting Foye orchestrate more of the offense himself (Foye has more natural PG skills than Burks in the halfcourt) and it took alot of the ball-handling/instigating-the-offense pressure off Burks so he could go out there and just play. Wasn't over-thinking or playing afraid to make a mistake - just played on instinct and now has a game he can build on now that he should (hopefully) be getting some consistent minutes with Watson&Hayward out.

Final result was a band aid for a bullet wound.

Don't hold your breath.

Holy glasses batman Carroll is sporting. Lol.

As good as most of the stats looked we shouldn't have been in OT against this team. Right on about Al....his usual inefficient self.

i turned it on a couple minutes ago, Burks got a pass intercepted by Jimmer, then he got the ball stolen from him a couple plays later. On this plus side, Corbin is experimenting with this Kanter/Favors/Millsap/Carroll/Burks line-up

He's not been great but his handle is definitely improved. Passing ability is still pretty suspect. It's not that he's unwilling, it's just that he can't seem to make the type of visionary passes that even a backup PG has to be able to make at times. He can basically dump it into the post and anything else is probably at least a 50% chance of a TO.

Watching the game right now and specifically just watching Burks (this game was terrible) and he's doing a lot of things like setting screens, dribbling up court, calling plays, and setting plays and these things may all be new to him. His offense as a PG is way far off, but he's doing a lot of things right- watch him feeding the post for example. There's a ton more you have to do as a Jazz PG than as a Jazz SG. It's the hardest position to play on the Jazz by far.
His defense is superb- he can keep up with most PG's right now. That's why I want him at PG.

I'll say it now- Burks at 1 and Hayward at 2 >>> Burks at 2 and Hayward at 3 (Defensively at least)

I'm not sure we're getting the PG we want- the crop is small and most of the good ones are untradeable.
There is Bledsoe and he is good at racking up stats, but can he run a team? (Clippers lost 6 of 8 without CP3).
And if we want Bledsoe, then how much more does Bledsoe offer than what Burks offers?
