Using my avatar leads to neg rep too - weird.
You should bump your rep power up to 47 to match PKM, and then neg him. Might get his/her/it's attention more.

What does the formula look like now? The older posters seem to have benefited.
I was tweaking the rep setting, then forgot what I started with. So I'm not sure how close these are to what we've been using but here are the new settings:
1 rep pt for every 100 days since registering (I believe the old value was every 130-150 days, something like that)
1 rep pt for every 5000 posts (I don't know what the old value was... perhaps every 3000-4000 posts, something like that)
1 rep pt for every 300 pts of reputation (this is lower than the old value, but I don't have a good idea of what the old value was)
Holy cow, is PKM that much higher in rep power than Jason & me? Time to do some rep rebalancing, I guess.
Can we start out at zero again? I think it helps with newer posters feeling more empowered/less marginalized due to a stupid e-score. Same Batman and Robin will end up on top again in a few short months anyway.

What would that make me if I'm a few rungs below Batman and Robin?

Boo! So much for ever catching anyone that's ahead of me. FYI, the last settings I was aware of were:
1 rep power point for every 141 days and 2500 posts. I don't remember the reputation though.
The major factor is your own # of reputation points. (That's different than rep power.) You can still catch people by getting lots of rep points.
I don't know how to do that, sorry.

Can't you do it manually? I'll be the first volunteer.
Or you could just post better?
Let me preface with I don't care how the formulas are set.
Having said that, if I owned the site I would do it EXACTLY the opposite. From a business perspective the formulas seem dumb.
I would give the most rep power for posts, the second most for rep points, and the least for time served. The reason is you want to reward site members for visiting frequently, turning over pages, and creating maximum site activity. Rep points and time served does neither of these directly. Though rep points does indirectly because of a, presumably, better site content.
Would truly enjoy Admin response to this.. just out of curiosity.
No, doesn't work like that. Rep for admins is set to a constant value which I periodically adjust but which otherwise doesn't change over time, rather than using the formula like everyone else.
Oh. Didn't know that.
You're assuming Jason's in this to make money. He isn't--he's in this to make a better community. Or so it seems to me. That's why I decided to reward rep level more and post count less (as per your bolded statement above). As far as time served, I just decided it was worth "rewarding" those who have been with us the longest.
