Following potential 2013 draftees

I think Olynyk is in play for the Jazz pick if Burke is gone. People rip him for his low rebounding but he only plays 25 minutes a game. No one knows his measurements yet wingspan wise, but he does look a legit 7' with shoes.

Offensively Olynyk plays like Marc Gasol. He can pass and score from all over. Doesn't seem to be moving fast or look pretty but he gets the job done.

I love Burke as a college player but watching him closely lately his court vision is not all that great hes more of a combo guard and at 5'11 that doesnt excite me much..

Id rather Kabongo i think his "upside" is higher he has a little Rondo in him

Primary ball handler in a pick and roll based offense with an A/TO ratio of over 3.5/1 is a combo guard? Whatever you say.

Hard to take any prediction serisouly when you haven't watched a guy play a game yet. You are venturing into Wesmantooth/Tony Mitchell territory.
Wow thanks for the heads up:o

On a more serious note part of me pimping Canaan is because of the Lillard's rise to power in the draft last year. Him being an elite scorer for a little known school that rose up the draft board as the weeks went along, just saw some parallels between him and Canaan. Thought I'd jump on that a little after underestimating Lillard last year. Its probably too early to compare him to Lawson, but I do feel he could be on par or better then Kemba Walker. I feel he has some NBA ready skills.

Is the reason no one one is talking about him, because no one has seen him play?

This is just ridiculous he's the most pure pg in the league. He's not close to being a combo guard. What have you been watching??

Stats in general and especially college stats dont tell everything about a player..

Marbury and and Steve Francis averaged 9 assists a game were they pure point guards?

Scoring PG does not equal combo guard. Not even close. Just because Burke shoots a lot does not mean he is not an adept PG.

Secondly, comparing Burke to Francis and Marbury is just laughable. If you can't see that I don't know what you're watching.

What I really don't understand is hating on Burke then pimping Kabongo as having a higher ceiling (because his production is not good compared to Burke). I can't think of any situation where I would rather have Kabongo.

Burke vs. Wolters is clearly the must see game, but here’s a few more PG related things to watch for in the tourney:

Whoever wins the Burke vs. Walters matchup will likely face VCU in the next round with its reputation for turnover-inducing pressure defense.

MCW (Syracuse) vs Montana tough-defending guards (esp. Will Cherry) in a first round game. Remember Montana was one reason many people couldn’t quite wrap their heads around Damien Lillard as a legit prospect last year. Lillard just didn’t really have good games against them, nor could Weber beat Montana when it counted.

If Marcus Smart and OK St win their first two games (no sure thing, since they’ll be a #5 seed), they’ll likely face the same Louisville defense that obliterated MCW & Syracuse in the second half of the Big East Championship.

You are right, idiot. I am also looking forward to Wolters vs. Burke. I always have a hard time judging players that have a perceived limitation... Seems like for every Millsap, there is a Jimmer. But I will say that Wolters seems to have really nice balance when he dribbles and has size, so even though he isn't lightning quick, he might still be able to get to his spots... but we'll see. Thanks again, idiot.

Burke flies up DX's draft board. #10.

Pray that he, his supporting cast, or the Jazz completely **** the bed or he's probably not going to be available.

If we don't manage to land Burke, my vote would be to take a chance on McCollum.

I will pay you 36 rep points for a bit of a PG primer leading up to the tourney/draft season.

Like, maybe just a good highlight reel of the guys I need to see.

I know this sucks, but my vote is to continue with the STEALTH TANK strategy. Let Corbin go nuts playing guys that play losing basketball and let's watch this thing ****ing plummet. The vets might not be back, the Jazz get an improved chance to substantially improve through the draft, and Corbin's head might finally end up on a pike. And the downside is...?

Oh, right, winning culture. That's going far.

Well last year we had a winning culture and look at where it got us.

We must have got a better seed than last year, right?

The Jazz have already pissed their goodwill away as far as they're going to with the fanbase as much as they're going to this year. Might as well give fans a reason to be excited about next year and have every reason along the way to make tough decisions easier. Because, seriously, this **** isn't working.
