What's new

Following potential 2013 draftees

Both physically and rhythm & tempo, he looks very similar to Rondo ... if he can build on that, and shoot the 3's as well? Are you KIDDING ME??!!

Other observations:

- good composure, seems always in control
- hesitation, change of speed is really really quick
- plenty of speed to beat opposing PG up the court, or to the basket
- in terms of physical attributes, I think he blows Burke out of the water. He just seems to be quite a bit quicker & longer..
- good & willing passer out of pick & roll
- apparently doesn't yet have a left hand finish
- can get a bit out of control when driving & dish leading to TO's
- looks like a good communicator & leader on the floor - always calling plays, surveying, moving people.
- Boy his 3pt stroke is really smoooth.. if he can shoot it consistently, I mean, at #14, that's a bargain.

In summary, it would be interesting to see the +/- of this game, because it seems whenever Schroeder was in the game, he pushed the ball, able to penetrate at will and the team is active and quick and scores.

I just want to get it out there that I really like Schroe but I really like him compared to the PGs in this draft.

I don't think he will ever be an all start but if he can play tenacious defense, be a willing passer on the PnR and hit an outside shot every once in a while then he will be solid.

This has been my attempt to manage expectations.

Okay. My German is rusty, seeing as I haven't taken a class in years, but I'll give it a shot:

Interviewer: So Dennis, the Nike Hoops Summit 2013 has just come to a close. You had 18 points, 2 or 3 rebounds, and 6 assists. What was your impression/experience??

Schröder: Really good, I mean we really prepared ourselves well for the game itself all week long, from Monday to Friday. We really trained well, and 'harmonized' very well-- and consequently we had a great game today.

Interviewer: Very good. How did you find this entire experience, this week in Portland, and America?

Schroder (short answer, can't really translate this one super clearly): It was good, I mean playing with 12 of the best players in the entire world. *I can't quite catch if he's saying that he learned a lot, or if he had a lot of fun. Maybe Rev9 could help me out here. Either way, its quite inconsequential and nothing that we would find important*

Interviewer: How was the coaching staff, the trainers, the "Niketown" (that employs 6500) people-- how was that all for you?

Schröder: The organizers(??) did a lot for us, everything that we wanted, or needed, they supplied to us. They were always there for us, no matter what we needed-- they did a very good job. They even went shopping with us, spent $500.

Interviewer: Alright, to close, any shout-outs to Germany?

Schröder: Hell Na.

All in all, truly not anything was said in terms of draft importance.

But, as I said earlier. Very articulate, heady, and respectful of the interviewer. No attitude, earnest answers.

Truly doesn't seem to headcase-esque

i am afraid that Jazzfanz are wearing rose colored glasses right now. We want a PG so badly that i dont think they are seeing straight.

Not saying that i am hating Schroder. Actually an all Euro draft would be kind a cool.

Wait a minute.. wtf do I want to take advice to manage my expectations??????

"Guys.. be careful getting excited.. we are Utah.. and we are mediocre.. always have been, always will be. I don't want to see anyone getting their hopes up that that could change.. so lets just listen to voice of reason and know our place in the BB hierarchy. . Okay guys?"
