Following potential 2013 draftees

On second thought.. what I said applies, regardless. I always believe in BPA with the tie-breaker being team need.. but this year just feels like this big collective hodgepodge of suckage.

the good thing is the jazz have a bunch of scouts that look a lot closer at prospects then we do. they will create their own list of who they want. when the draft comes they will take the best player on their list. none of us know what is on that list especially not the jazz.

Nuh nuh no no no .... There are plenty of numbnuts on here that are way better at scouting prospects. Thats why they are IT guys instead of scouts.

Jazz Draft 2008
(23) Kosta Koufos PF/C Ohio State
(44) Ante Tomic C Croatia
(53) Tadija Dragicevic PF

Must have been slim pickings in the second round that year.

The Jazz scouts rocked it that year. Next three after koufus-

1) Ibaka
2) Batum
3) George Hill

Leave it to the pros.....they know what they are doing.

All of the people beating off to BPA understand that the Jazz could use TWO point guards but don't even have ONE right now, right? Again, I think most of the four most discussed PGs in this draft (and possibly Wolters as well) can stick around in the league. If who's there at 14 isn't THE answer, then they might be AN answer (backup).

I'm not advocating drafting non-NBA players based on need.

I would love to draft a PG....if one is the BPA. I think we are so hard up that we are inflating their values. Might be wrong, but I just dont see anything more than back ups.

We've been complete **** at the PG spot for two seasons now. The time has come to get an impact player at the position. That's really my only goal for the offseason - just get your franchise PG, whoever you think that might be - Burke, McCollum, Schroder, Bledsoe, Teague, etc.

We have two first-round picks, two expiring bigs with good S&T potential, and a lot of cap room. If we enter 2013-2014 without our PG of the future on the roster, that's a huge fail.

I agree we need a PG now, but I dont think that he is in this draft. That is why I advocate taking BPA and working on a deal to bring us the young PG we covet. Think Houston. They compiled assests and landed a top 10 player. We should be thinking the same way.

I agree that I have been swayed by that this weekend. The need for a PG is great and for the entire season until this last weekend I have said draft BPA.

I was very impressed with the composure and speed that Schroe plays with and that certainly pushed me toward wanting him at 14. I think an argument could be made that he is BPA at 14. Workouts and possibly the combine will tell us a lot.

As far as I know, I'm the only guy to advocate drafting 2 PGs. I've been mocked and/or ignored for that position (which I still hold; see sig).

My hope is that Atlanta convinces Chris Paul and Dwight Howard to sign with them, and the Jazz are able to swoop in and snag Teague. My dream is that the Jazz are able to convince Chris Paul to sign with Utah, and I'd be willing to sacrifice several of PKM's children (I'd offer my own, but don't have any) to make it happen.

Oh, how far you will fall.........

all the way down to the moment when we've done very little movement and Randy Rigby gives an interview wherein he botches the details of the CBA. Mo's comin back!

I mentioned the Jazz need to draft two point guards too. I got some blow back from that opinion. I doubt the Jazz do draft two PGs but improving the PG position is certainly the greatest need on the team. Our backcourt especially PG is just terrible. Mo is too costly and is really a SG playing PG. Burks is OK as a backup PG but he is a SG too. Watson and Tinsley are over the hill and should only be getting mop up minutes.

I agree. I'm not convinced he's in this draft, either. I'm high on CJ McCollum but he's still very unproven as a prospect. And I don't think Burke will ever be more than a solid starter.

If we could package BPA + other considerations for an impact PG who is already in the league, I'd be all for it.

I'll agree to my kids being sacrificed for CP3 but not Teague. Just want to be clear. (Not that you asked)

And if the Jazz draft a big, they're almost guaranteed to be a backup as well (if not buried) despite being stocked at the starting positions. Same with wings.

Team needs when the roster is so wildly unbalanced are very relevant.
