If Utah is looking for a 3rd string big man/ mentor and Jason Collins is the best available, then I think they should bring him in. That said, I do not live in Utah but know that Utah monies helped to back Yes on Prop 8 in California and the Boy Scouts of America which have strong roots in Utah have not supported gay rights, so I seriously wonder how the Utah fan-base would react to an openly gay player. Even if the Jazz management and players wanted and supported Collins on and off the court, would the fans? I am seriously asking.

Last time I checked, teams still needed to carry 13 players. And last time I checked, when the Jazz tried to fit 11 players into a rotation, it didn't go well. Figure out the rest.
