Bargnani is too hefty of a contract to take back for a draft pick. This franchise isn't gonna swallow 22 mil for a 9th pick next year. Absorbing a contract along the realms of Shawn Marion makes more sense.

And that is a contract that gets you the #13 pick in a weak draft. I do like that scenario if both Bazz and Schroeder are on the board when the #13 pick comes along.

I don't see the Raps giving up a pick just to dump Bargnani. Even if they dump him, they'll only have the MLE to work with in free agency this and next season. Dumping picks for nothing doesn't make a lot of sense (hell, dumping Bargnani just so you can use the MLE isn't exactly a no brainer).

But make no mistake, Bargnani is ****ing terrible. He does nothing well.

Now we can both agree on that. Like I said, I would only do it if the Jazz got something good back in return and IMO an extra pick in the 2014 draft is something good.

Yup. I struggle to think what kind of niche he could carve out for himself in this league. A decent stretch-4 coming off the bench? He does not deserve to start on any team, thats for sure.

Over a 4 year span, as opposed to 2 years. So essentially we are swallowing 44 million over a 4 year span for the sake of a 13th pick in a draft. Sorry, can't see the jazz doing it. There will be many other teams who are desperate to get rid of cap room Im sure-- like Houston. So lets try to take back a less-inflated contract, from a team that has a better chance of doing worse next season

Yes the Jazz should get him. We need a whipping boy to bitch about.

I would say that next season most Jazz fans will see Jeremy Evans for what he is, just a contract and roster spot, nothing more. I think a lot of fans will complain about that most of the season. Also, there is still Marvin Williams.

Fair enough.

Bargnani is so bad that I would not want him for free. Just an epitome of laziness, softness and selfishness. Yes, he is big and can make few jumpers. That's about it.

Raptors will be fighting for a playoff position in the east... Don't want a late teen pick to take on Bargs!!!!

So what if the the trade was something like Bargs/Ross for Marvin/Evans and our 2nd rounder? I'd accept that trade. Bargs can stretch d for Favors/Kanter and u do habe to respect the fact that he can put a few points on the board. Perfect 6th man? He's soft but Ross might be worth it. But I'd think anytrade involves Marvin!

not enough options. yes doesn't cut it but in the right situation I would say yes.

I agree I would rather use the 22 mil to bring tomic over is a better option.

if Toronto offered picks to take him I would consider it. jazz need salary other wise they have to pay.

I think bargs would play well next to favors and kanter nice option off the bench.

hard to say until after the draft.

Working how? Why not just re-sign Al or Millsap, who are the superior players (by far)?

I'm having a hard time understanding why the average poster on Jazzfanz seems to want the Jazz to turn into the Kings.

This.

We've suffered through Boozer, Memo, and Al, and now Jazzfanz want the jazz to take on Bargs! Can't we just become an elite defensive team for once. We've being an elite offensive team hasn't worked. It's time to get defensive for a change.

Hell no to Bargs!

Bargs sucks ***.

I would take a deal though that involved getting Ross or an unprotected pick. I believe that's what the Jazz should do with their cap space anyways. We shouldn't be thinking signing a high dollar free agent this year unless his name is Chris Paul, and even that I'm not a 100% sold on.

WTF is this talk about spending 22 mil to bring tomic over? Holy ****!! Have Jazzfanz lost their minds.

Spend 5 mil on a buyout (pulling this out of my ***), and give him a 4 year (4th year team option) 17 million dollar deal. Not exactly crazy.

No, the Jazz need to build around young players with upside. If they went after a youngster like they did in Boozer and Okur, then I'd understand. But paying a ton of money to an older guy who is not producing, is hurt on top of that and is grossly overpaid makes no sense. I predict Toronto won't be able to trade him.
