What's new

are other teams trying to scare the jazz into drafting schroder@14?

Riddle me this...

where do the jazz finish in the west next year if we Signed...

im not convinced Schroder will ever be better than Jeff... we should Sign one and Draft the other

Maybe 3 games better than if we resign Mo? Teague is completely average. The only year you might argue he was better than average was last year which just happened to be a contract year. Hello Mr. Red Flag.

I'm ok with signing Schroeder, but I don't want to sign someone like Ateague. He is too expensive long term and too good short term. And for those of you who think we will compete with the core 4 starting forget that you need a bench, you need a 4th quarter go to guy, and you need starters to not get in foul trouble. Right now, we have none of that.

Lets tank, but lets not get borderline players... which is it, fools? PG_AB trying to instill some truth into you, but you go against the man?
All you guys are good for.

I will never be for overpaying mediocre players in the name of winning, tanking, or otherwise playing basketball. Overpaying for someone like aminu, Jennings, Teague, or any player who is not a max guy will get you nowhere. The only players that should ever be overpaid are superstars.

Al Farooq aminu provides us with elite rebounding and size from the SF position and he can really bother some tall players.

you could never convince me hes not worth whatever contract he gets, kids a team first guy always

Fine. Pick up Aminu for a year. There's no downside there.

I think if a team takes Schroeder higher than #13, they're reaching. OKC isn't going to take Schroeder, pretty sure.

If you like Schroder, your only worry is a team with cap space or a pick in the same range making a deal with Dallas.

If I were the Jazz, I'd try to make a trade for the #13 pick. We could trade #13 + #21 to move up to #9 and still keep #14.

That would net us McCollum/Adams + Schroeder/Gobert.

Minnesota would take a shooting guard at #13 (KCP), leaving players we like at #14.

i swear when i was doing my 100's of basketball simulations the 2 things that caused the jazz to win the championship next season the most were

Signing cp3(we won the championship and the west in a REALLY high rate of those sims)

A Signing Tyreke Evans to a 4yr/40mil contract, this works on the premise that he will improve every year of the contract, which i think he could actually do for Utah playing SG he can play some PG but Schroder, Burke, MCW or Larkin must be drafted first

the other involved a trade at the start of last season of Milsap and Jefferson for Kyrie Irving, that obviously the cavs would never do in reality

Wow.. I think I just realized something. Your main problem is you live in the NBA 2K13 world where almost any trade is possible and signing free agents is a piece of cake. I'm too grounded in reality to get into this argument with you bro. Your ideas are just too fantastical for me.

How in the whole wide world do you think CP3 will sign with us? Can you pleaseeeeeeeeeeee enlighten me on that?

- Do we have a legit All Star to pair him with? No.

- Do we have a great young player who has proven to be a star in this league (i.e., Blake, Paul George, Curry,)? May be in 2 years' time, but now, no.

- Do we have a FO willing to spend up big to win (ala Lakers, DAL)? No.

- Do we provide him with tax benefits (ala HOU)? No.

And trading Jefferson & Millsap for Kyrie????????????

- What GM is going to be stupid enough to do that?

- Does the Cavs owner feel like losing $100mil of the team's evaluation overnight (ala when LeBron left)?

- ??? I mean what were you thinking???

May be I should start playing some NBA 2K13... it might take some stress off of being a JazzFanz.

Maybe you should tell Indiana that.

To be fair Indiana really struggled because George Hill isn't a great PnR guy. They ended up throwing the ball to West/Hibbert for iso too many times.

If you don't have a go-to-guy, at least have a solid PnR combination that you can just throw the ball to and get good looks.

I'm fine with getting borderline players to tank ... but not to over-pay for them. $13million for Jennings is Cap-Suicide in this league. The same with Teague. You guys do realized that Curry got $10million per year right??

I don't think this is a good draft to trade up into since a player you might be targeting may fall to you anyway, and that player, from a projection standpoint, isn't all that much better than a player at the selection you're at anyway. I wish Jazz could get 13 straight up, but I doubt Dallas is going to be willing.

we paid Mo williams Raja Bell and Randy Foye 15mil last season

do you think JEnnings/Teague@13mil is a rip off when contrast in that light?
Yes. I think Jennings is one of the most overrated chuckers in the league. Paying him anything more than 6-8M is a rip off. And even at that price I don't want him on the Jazz. Teague on the other hand is no more than a MLE player. And I'd probably want him at that price but no more.

jazz cap suicide... are you serious? must be trolling, the knicks are Cap suicide 3 players = 95% of the cap, the jazz have a bazillion rookie contracts and no vets other than starvin marvin, and less in 2014 (especially if we trade Hayward)

jennings can be traded for an expiring vet whenever... the knicks would take him in a second

13 is an overpay but what you do is pay upfront for 2 years with a team option 3rd, then the jazz's asses are covered totally when u think about it

if we have schroder and jennings goes ****ty we will love schroder even more

if jennings goes well, we have everyone trying to trade for schroder near the deadline, like Bledsoe
yes it's cap suicide. Nobody is trading for Jennings if he makes that much money. You would be stuck with him for the duration of the terrible deal. And I don't have any interest in trading Hayward just to get Jennings.
.
Also no way in hell is Jenning's signing a 2 year deal. He is going to want to get paid.

Pay Jennings to run the franchise into the ground for 4 years? What's Jennings good at? Rallies. He rallies the team 20% of the time, shoots the other team into rallies 80% of the time. The PG version of CJ Miles, just with longer rope to shoot more.

Dead on.

I mean, really? Really? Why ANYONE would want Jennings on their team is beyond me...
