CURRENT FREE AGENTS
Terrence Williams - Just waived by Celtics
Carlos Delfino - Good shooter average at everything else.
Alan Anderson - Kind of a chucker
O.J. Mayo - Will probably be overpaid. And we would have to if we want him.
Matt Barnes - Good overall player but too old for our team
Corey Brewer - Good defender but cannot shoot from the 3.
Francisco Garcia - injured too much.
Austin Daye - Good shooter but horrible on defense. Lazy at time. Tweener
Andrei Kirilenko - ...............
Monta Ellis - Will be overpaid and we don't want him
Al-Farouq Aminu - Can't shoot
Xavier Henry - Can't shoot the 3
Ronnie Brewer - Best shooter in the history of the Jazz. You can't stop him from the outside ;)
Dorell Wright - Good 3 point shooter but not great overall . Athletic but inconsistent shooter. Good defender though
Nick Young - Pretty good shooter but very bad shot selection
Elliot Williams - Always injured but very very athletic
Wesley Johnson - Bust in the draft. Very athletic but not aggressive. Came out of college with a 3 point shot but it didn't translate
Mickael Pietrus - Always injured and is getting old. But good shooter and defender
Randye Foye -......................
DeMarre Carroll - ....................
Tracy McGrady Ya...... No.
Gary Neal - Possible because spurs might not have much left after they signed Splitter and Manu.
Andre Iguodala - Will be overpaid
Anthony Morrow - Good shooter but can't be defense or do much else.
Wayne Ellington - Good shooter, average defender and little undersized.
Omri Casspi - ehhhhh sure dropped off the map Hasn't played much .
Reggie Williams - Below average at everything. Not very good
Gerald Henderson - Restricted and Bobcats want to keep him
Dahntay Jones - Horrible shooter but good defender just getting old. NBK2 has him as a good shooter........lol Never has been.
Sasha Vujacic - Irritating lol

I might have missed some let me know if I should add any to the list. I wanted Martell Webster or Chase Budinger but they are gone now. So not sure now. Guess the Jazz think Hayward is a 3 since not much is left at the 3 position.

I will update the list of who has signed and who is left as much as I can.

I have no interest in Foye. Corbin will play him 30 minutes a game again.

I like Deflino but he is getting up there in age. Turns 31 in August so doesn't really fit what we are doing.

Bellinelli shot 35% from the 3 last year and 39% from the field. And his best quality is a shooting. lol And he played on a good team.

Man we have slim pickens right now. I hope we have a sign and trade in the works.

I don't mind that. We need to go lean this year an pick a stud SF in the '14 draft.

Start Foye this year, Burks off the bench ala what Hayward did last year. Foye is still a decent shooter.

Tanking is not going to happen this year. People need to stop hoping for that. Jazz won't tank. They never have and they never will.

We all know Favors and Kanter are better defenders than Millsap and Jefferson. We all saw how the ball movement was better without Mo Williams and Jefferson. If we lose both of them how will things not improve?

With the talent we have and the vetarans they are about to sign I don't see how we will even be in the top 8 next year in the draft. Makes no sense.
If that was the case we shouldn't be very excited out our "Core" if we are one of the worse teams in the west with all of them getting playing time.

Who has money left?

Portland, Charlotte, Houston, Atlanta.....

Jazz have been linked to Martin in rumours from back in his Sacto days. I can't tell if it is just Locke or if the intrest started higher than that.

Martin will probably get a deal around 7-8 million a year. I doubt the Jazz want to do that for a aging often injured player. If we were a few pieces away from being in the top 4 in the west than I think we would. But we aren't this year.

Mayo, and we might get him a bit in the "dream" 8-9 mil range.

He's a small town type of guy in the first place, I think he's going to love Utah.

Do you think if McLady was signed, Corbin would be urging to start him?

@sam_amick about 8 minutes ago

The Minnesota Timberwolves have offered Kevin Martin a 4-year deal that could be worth as much as $30 million with incentives. Story to come

We won't "tank", but we'll "go lean", meaning we won't have substantial/quality backups.

Depends who we will sign. I doubt we are going to purposely pass up on better players to sign worse veterans and hope we will be losing to get a draft pick.

We should care more about getting our "Core" to win now and learn to win now than the luck of a lottery ball.

Yeah no doubt, but they'll also need to learn to win "on their on strength" rather than signing a whole lot of vets to clog up playing time again.

You need to stand on your own 2 feet.

So there is a run on wings and Bigs. Meanwhile the pgs........

Jazz happened to draft a pg so are probably not in the market for the bargain pg shopping.

Most teams PG positions are filled in comparison to wing positions. PG's became overly popular after Deron and Paul came into the league. Overrated position in my book. In terms of what to build around.

I'd be ok with that IF Corbin split the Foye/Burks mins 24/24 or used Alec and Randy together like he did a few times last year. Let's just go all in on the professional tank, sign Tinsely and DMC, then rookie FA's as our other backup PG, wing and 3rd big.

I just don't see Lindsey playing so generic this year. We will have a new face on the team this year.

I heard Mayo got to the free throw line 6 times a game after the all-star break. If that is the case than I would pay him 32 Million over 4 years. 8 Million a year.
If we cannot get Mayo than sign Dorell Wright.
A guy who can play the 3 or 2. Good 3 point shooter and defender. Take pressure off of Burks & Hayward so they can drive more.
