Warriors and Jazz Mega Trade

I'm just now getting some into on this trade...... holeeeeeeee... this is way bigger than draft night.. I am so damn impressed with the FO.

Raping right now. Wish I had been around today.. no idea what the 45 pages say. Hopefully all ecstatic.

Every one started off in a panic, Thriller may have committed suicide, then we found out about the picks and Rush. Some people were elated, others said we should have gotten Barnes. Then reality hit and we realized we got two unprotected firsts in two amazing drafts by a fringe playoff team. Most people love Lindsay again. The rollercoaster ride of a Jazzfan.

Pretty clear Jazz knew about Millsap and Hawks when they made the deal with Warriors. Sign and trade options for Al and Paul didn't exist

Well if they couldn't swing a sign and trade, then this did the trick,

I'm so impressed, in part, becauee the two best drafts, by far, are perceived to be 14 and 17... our FO rocks.
I'll give the benefit of the doubt for those in this thread that were less than supportive... as I'm sure the info was spotty as it came in. But from what I understand now.. we should be turning over cars and burning couches in SLC in a posi-riot.

Raping is a good thing right ;-)

In the end I think we're a much better team today, primarily because I finally have true confidence in the vision of the FO. We're going really young, we'll lose a lot, but we also have enough assets that this doesn't trap us in a downward spiral.

We'll get one swing at a GREAT player in the draft next year, and will also have multiple young players that can be traded for established players since their values will be higher after actually playing.

Adding that we have about 30 million in cap next offseason, there is no way we shouldn't come out of this as a nice team (and fun to watch! for the first time in years!).

GS is better than they were, but I'm not convinced they've really fundamentally solved any of their problems. They still only really have Curry who can create and if he gets injured they will be pretty bad.

The initial report was Biedrins and Jefferson, then those two plus Rush, and finally like twenty minutes later 1 pick, like an hour later 2 picks unprotected, then future seconds.

It was very slow to fully come out.

Yeah at first all it was was Biedrins and Jefferson.

Good post... but I can't help but notice the artificial dialing back of optimism.. imo, now is precisely the time to partake of the kool-aid.

Can i get clarification - Can the Jazz trade any of the GSW players at the trade deadline? Is there still a one year hold of sorts that is required?

What do you think the "cut off" point is in the 2014 draft where it becomes more or less equal to any other draft? That is my main worry. If you miss the cut off point, not only do you miss out on a good player, but the trade value of it becomes pretty much worthless.

It was also being reported that the Warriors were still looking to use Bogut and Barnes to get Dwight Howard in a sign and trade. If Howard was going to the Warriors, I think getting Barnes in the deal was justified. As it was, they kept Barnes and gave up two potentially great assets with unprotected picks in 2014 and 2017 (plus some 2nd round picks as well) for a strait up cap dump to sign Iggy. That, I can live with. Lindsey killed it today.

Hopefully Rush shows he's healthy and can be flipped for something at the deadline. Can't see anyone giving anything decent for the other two that would be worth more than the cap space after their contracts expire along with Marvin Williams.

So is it for sure, set instone, known what this deal is, exa cc tly?

Warriors trade Andris Biedrins, Richard Jefferson, Brandon Rush, 2014 unprotected first round pick, 2017 unprotected first round pick, and two future second round picks to the Jazz for Kevin Murphy.

I don't know enough about the 2014 prospects to really get excited about them because it's highly unlikely we're bad enough for Wiggins or Parker.

What I am PSYCHED for though is finally getting to watch the young guys play! 30+ minutes every single night for Burke, Burks, Hay, D-Fav, and Kanter is going to be so much fun. The last couple of years have taught me that winning with boring basketball and players you don't like is overrated. Bring on the tank!

I haven't gone so far as to have created a big board.. but I would say that answer is easily 20... but how do you compare? I mean, I think the 20 looks like the average 11/12.

But we also can't underestimate having two 1sts in what will become the most highly pimped drafts ever... assets. Move up? Trade for a player??? I think its a massive powerplay.

I continue seeing conflicted info on whether the picks are unprotected.. is it for sure???

Also, I think Rush has great upside for the jazz.. way underrated.
