What's new

July 7th, Summer League Game 1: Utah vs. Miami

If you take 15 bucks divide it by five games that's only three bucks a game. Much cheaper than a theater movie and i get to see the rookies. It's worth it for just the Jazz games, and who knows, if I get bored in September I can go back and watch some of the others.

True... when you think of it that way it is OK... $3 a game is still not cheap though...

He really seems to not have any ball skills, and has a hard time even getting it past half court on top of having no mid/long range game. I just dont see it...

Are summer league teams better than college teams?
I would think they are.
Older, some with pro experience, etc.

I would say so. The top 4 or so college teams each year could hang, I'd say.. but generally, yes.

Individually? yes!
From a quality pov as basketball is a team sport? no!
College ball lets you run 1837182933 sets on every offense, 24 sec clock allows more pressure full court and you can try max 2 sets before you have to settle for a last second 1v1/Iso. Plus these player have internal battle for who's going to make the trainingcamp. That hurts teamplay additional to the fact that they had very few time to prepare half court sets.

sl teams would kill every college team from talent standpoint

most sl teams spend a week together though

so obvious chemsitry and strategical disadvantage
