What's new

Should have trusted my GUT! Schroeder!

It should have been Shroeder!

I think he is a future star. It wasn't just his athleticism, it was his instincts and defensive prowess. Schroeder #14 and Gobert #21 was the route to take.

We may not see it for 3-5 years but talent and athleticism will eventually win the day.

Don't get me wrong I am excited for Burke, but I would have easily have been excited if the front office verified what we all saw in Schroeder by selecting him.

What concerns me is that he had a bad workout here when he came in... did that sour the Jazz and if so why? I thought 99% of the scouting on players was supposed to come before any workouts. Locke said that the hoop summit was not where the Jazz were on to this kid, that they knew about him. I will be watching his career develop with an eye to whether or not that was the direction we should have headed.

Watching on NBA TV right now this kid is a beast... mistakes will be made but Burke, McCollum, MCW just cant do what this kid is doing at 19.

He has game changing ability.!

yeah... unfortunately, he's looking like a stud out there.

I've watched UNLV basketball for 4 years and Anthony Marshall is one of the most sure-handed PG's I've ever seen. Schroder ripped the ball from him in the open court.

That really opened my eyes.

Told you guys Schroeder is the one to get... we may have gotten too cute by moving up to get Burke.

Should have just grabbed Schroeder and not think too hard about it.

The emotional roller coaster this board has been on the past few weeks is CRAZY

I'll be the first to acknowledge it's been strenuous going from high of draft day... and now to the low of wondering if Burke will turn out OK.

tortured... this off-season kinda wraps up what being a Jazz fan is all about

I feel like blowtorching something right now. I also Get tore up on a sunday. Dude from Vegas. im from vegas. Marshall is not some supreme PG quit acting like Schroeder just ****ing boosted john Stockton.

I mean, what is it that Burke has over Schroeder?

Passing: Schroeder
Running an offense: Draw
Shooting: Burke
Leadership: Burke
Athleticism: Schroeder
Defense: Schroeder
Quickness: Draw
Getting to the Rim: Draw
Length/Reach: Schroeder

So that's 4:2 to Schroeder by my count.

What did we all see in Shroeder?

I wish we could have traded up and drafted one of those Jamaicans from Cool Runnings. Could you imagine paired the youth of our core with the stamina, heart and explosiveness of Senca, the toughness of the big dude, or the positive vibes of the dude with dreads?

True. But if Lindsay had just taken Schroeder at #14 and Gobert at #27 and then said I think the league was sleeping on these guys and we think they have athleticism, length and feel for the game that just can't be taught and we think we got a steal we wouldn't be apologizing for Burke and his lack of athleticism. We would have been the homers we all are and been telling all the teams who took the top 3 pg's that all they need to do is wait and see... that we got the steal of the draft.

My problem with Burke after the euphoria of moving up to get the Naismith POY, is that he isn't as athletic as he needs to be. Schroeder is other worldly.

Watching this game I can see a future stud PG, eyes always up like they are complementing him for, and also a little immature which is why he may have slipped. He was on his teamate at the end of the quarter for chucking it... I can see how that is considered a little bit much of an attitude... but i like it... it shows the guy wants to be in charge.

I think he will be special and we will regret not taking him.

All it takes is looking back at the history of a few drafts and you realize how quickly high picks fall out of favor despite coming into the league with much hype: Jimmer, Evan Turner, Wesely Johnson to name just a few.

Schroeder has IT! As a floor leader, passer, speed & quickness... and then beastly defense.

LOL.. thanks for reading. I'm still pretty conflicted between the 2.

Kinda like you're dating the Older Sister, but then she took you home for dinner, and then you realized the Younger Sister is wayyyyyyyyyy cuter.

What do you do??

What do you do???????????

Umm... that's easy. Just like they do on TV... juggle them both til it all blows up in your face!

Well what makes it even harder is the Older Sister probably has a heart of Gold and has a pretty decent job (meaning she could look after you).

Young Sister definitely has that youthful look about her... and also very playful (meaning it'll never get boring in bed)

OH the decision!!!!!!!!!!!!
