What's new

I'm at the Zion's bball center, players working out....

sure, and he can take his two titles with him (wiggins)
Yeah, because leBron had so many titles when he left Cleveland ............ Oh, is Wiggins going to be better than LeBron? Or does our team which sucks so badly that we win the lottery have more talent? If we are so bad that we are top 3 in the lottery than we don't have the talent for a championship Wiggins or no.

Man that's a piss poor attitude. Sure glad I don't live your life.

Comparing one team to another is foolish unless they have the same players. You arguement is just bad. We will not have a bad record due to our players being bad. It is because they are young, untested and thrown into the spot light. Not to mention the complete lack of a bench and a new, relatively untested coach.

Will Wigins be better than Lebron? Who knows. But will Utah be better than Cleveland. I think so.

the only rookie getting serious time will be Burke. Hayward and Favors are about to sign tennish mil contracts, wouldn't call them young. Kanter and Burks have talent oozing out of their bodies, and this bench will surprise you. I stand by my feeling that it's time to win, not tank.

I would. Especially Favors. Both in age and experience. Same with Kanter and Burks. With Hayward I can see an argument being made but would call him young.

As for the bench. It is full of no bodies, rookies and D league call ups. (Assuming Kanter, Favors, Hayward, Burks and Burke are starters)

Jefferson is a former all star and Biendrins has been a double double guy. Rush is a proven shooter who just had an injury, everybody loves Jeremy, Marvin was a number two pick and who cares past ten. All it would take is for thee players to go back to 80 % of what they once were to have the eight players that would get serious time on a playoff team. Teams don't usually play the whole roster in the playoffs anyway, the season is just a way to find out who those eight are.

Everyone loves Evans but that doesn't mean squat. He can dunk and rebound. He has no shot and no weight to hold his position down low.

Biedrins has not averaged over 2 ppg in 2 years. Anytime he gets comes from kanter, Favors, Gobert and Evans. No thanks.

Jefferson didnt even average 10 ppg when he played 26 mpg+. Not to mention he is 33 and obviously declining.

Rush just came back from a major injury. Will he be the same? We hope so but he missed a whole year. He will not come out blazing.

Williams is a number 2 pick but that in no way guarantees success. He is also coming off a big injury. His fg% has gone down over the last three years.

Suddenly this bench is good? Sorry but the answer is no.

Get this guy hired as the new PR man for the team.

Yeah, if things are as good as he wants us all to believe then the Jazz had the best offseason in NBA history, bar none without question and Lindsey is the greatest GM in any pro sport ever.

Hope he's right but... well.

Dude as far biedrins and jefferson go...... they were on a team that is trying to win NOW and they were traded for kevin murphy who they promply cut.

If biedrins or jefferson were any good at all then the warriors would have kept them to help the bench... but they let them go for nothing so they must suck pretty bad.... hell by giving us draft picks they basically paid us to take those two off thier hands

So far Lindsey has been a stellar GM.

They traded those guys for Iggy, not nothing.

I didn't read it that way at all. It's the same thing most of us have been saying all along. Either this team is good enough to miss out on Wiggins or it's so bad that Wiggins won't put the Jazz into competition.

I think poor point guard play and bad bench are the wrenches in that POV, but it's still a valid point.

*Edit* This team is structured in many ways like last season's 29 win Detroit squad. Results will be similar.

Jefferson is washed up and the last time he was any good Brigham Young was entering the SLC Valley.
Biendrins got AKitis after signing his big contract. HE was horrible last year and that is being kind.
Rush has talent but he is coming off a serious injury (ACL). He is ok when healthy but not great. Yea everyone loves Evans but this isn't a popularity contest. He is stuck between positions and hasn't been able to get playing time.
Evans or Biendrins will get some limited playing time not both. Gobert will take some of the backup minutes and perhaps Marvin when he comes back.

Being a #2 pick doesn't ensure greatness (remember Shawn Bradley and Habeet), Marvin has been a big disappoint in his career and now you expect him to evolve into the star he was projected to be. It is hard to believe considering his past and the fact he is coming off a serious injury.

Considering how tough the West is, it will be a miracle if the Jazz make the playoffs. There is a small margin between winning and losing in the NBA. I think the Jazz will compete hard but will lack scoring off the bench which will lead to many tough losses. The only way the Jazz make the playoffs is if the Core5 and the bench play better than expected.

It's funny, some talk about how the team has no bench, others talk about how if the bench get any minutes they will come from Kanter or Favors. Can't have it both ways.

False portrayal of my argument. I said any minutes for Biedrins will come from Favors, Kanter, Gobert and Evans. If you are arguing for Biedrins to play then there is no hope for you.
