Hayward getting extension???

If some team is stupid enough to pay him 13 per, then let them. He is not close to that and we could replace him with a better player at that price. Maybe we trade him like Harden was before his last rookie contract season.

Dude, calm down. Locke is always talking out his ***

I'm pretty sure that there has been no cluing in Locke on what's going on with contract negotiations. I thing all these guys are just guessing.

Or he could be an average-ish defender and good spot-up shooter...

These.

Not being willing to pay Hayward 10.2ish million a year may be penny wise but its pound foolish. He's not worth these rumored extensions, but he not near as replaceable as a lot of recent posts are suggesting

This sounds like going deaf from all the leadership talks. Isn't there someone in the FO who simply says "Let's not get ahead of ourselves here."?

Lidnsey, you've been flawless this offseason, don't **** it up now.

$11 mil seems fair for Hayward. 13+......?

My gosh I think everyone needs to calm down and wait for an official deal is made. Everybody is making assumptions and going freakin crazy here.

Now I think Hayward is a special player and could be replaced, but we would miss certain parts of his game.

Is that Bucks, Raptors or Jazz organization? You can not pay that much just for potential yet Hayward is not kind of Paul George. If the rumour is valid, Kanter's gotta get the key of Miller family's all stuff.

Just curious.

What numbers would you have to see from hayward to offer him the max?

I think a wing player who is paid the max should have the ability to score on isolation and not have such poor ball handling. He gets stripped and looks clumsy too often when trying to take a guy off the dribble. That's a problem for a wing player. I don't see him ever gaining this ability and that's why I wouldn't pay him that much.

Based on what I know from previous seasons and his preseason 35% FG I doubt I will be one of them.

I'd rather go off his career averages of 45% fg, 40% 3pt and 81% ft then 1 crappy preseason. But to each their own i guess.

AK's number before he got the max as a STARTING point.

Also, I don't like that last year Hayward and Favors allowed Al and Paul to ruin the season. Not one stepped up and willed the Jazz to the playoffs. They haven't shown that leadership this team desperately needs.

One thing Ty did well last year was reward Favors with more playing time when he was doing well. NOTTTTT

I remember a ton of games he was producing and he got benched for Sap or Al. Same as Kanter.

hahahaha.

"Yes… gotta follow me on Twitter… @stevekylerNBA — 4 years $49 million. Word is Hayward is close, will be less than Favors, but still a solid multi-year deal. I;d peg in the $8 to $9 mil per year range."

I can deal with this

This is scary. His role is gonna be so different this year that I don't think his past numbers matter at all. Maybe he keeps his percentages up, but I could see them drooping. I do know that his usage is going to skyrocket, and he's going to produce much better raw stats.

Maybe all this time he's been protected by a lesser role and will be exposed this year. Or maybe he's been hidden and will explode.

With Favors' extension and now this rumor, Dennis Lindsay seems like a gambling man. Let's hope he's working with more information than we have.
