Big Al benched...

WTF? Fesenko, seriously? How many fouls per minute played again? He put up like 2 in 3:17 the other day. You all seriously want a guy putting you in foul trouble for the entire quarter in like 4 minutes getting "15-18"? Get a grip.

MIllsap hit 46 tonight. Who do you play? Some players play better against better sets. It was Sap's night. Bench big Al and give him time.

WHERE THAT METER AT?

I really liked the defensive play by Fes tonight. He was making everyone on the heat team adjust, or just plain miss. My favorite was when he busted his but down the court when Williams fouled James at the foul line. Big Fes can move.

who would have thought that Fes would play all of the fourth and into overtime if my memory is correct. And on top of that, he didnt look winded.

If things continue like this you could see Jefferson come off the bench. Not a bad move really, then you have a true center start and an inside scorer on the second unit.

I share these thoughts. Jefferson can be Millsap last year, and we can start with Fesenko Okur, and switch to Jeff if necessary.

Dude you seriously did NOT watch the game. Everyone that did knows you don't have the slightest freakin clue what you are talking about. Fes was called on to foul because D-Will couldn't and Fes did it quickly and efficiently without much time coming off the clock. I don't think he could have done any better. Watch the game and then come back and post.

...Jefferson is fundamentally unsound. He's basically a 40 million dollar board crasher! And we've got him for 3 years! We never learn, do we???

Come on, guys. Be real. Jefferson isn't and shouldn't come off the bench. Maybe if he puts stinkers up all the way to game 41, but I don't think that happens. Starting for him is going to be paramount for his confidence. He's a sensitive guy (right now), having him come off the bench might put the fire out, not light it under him.

Just maybe that hurt finger/hand he's had since the pre-season is starting to slow him down.
I'm not so keen on starting Fes, but he definitely needs more minutes. Gotta always worry about Fes and his silly fouls. Big Al does need to play to figure out our offense so it becomes instinctive, as a great deal of it is based on recognizing and reacting. Without playing, ya just can't learn it very well...

Should have been done a long time ago. Jefferson halts the offense once he catches the ball and can't even finish in the post like he could in Minnesota. He does not have good enough hands to be a pick and roll player. When his defender won't fall for his ball fakes, he just launches a low percentage "push shot" instead of passing. Like Harpring would say..."that's not Jazz basketball".

Whats wrong with Jefferson coming off the bench to provide some easy unassisted scoring when Deron is not in? Makes a whole lot of sense to me.

I didn't say he should be benched, just that Fes had a great game and even had great fouls. Jefferson better start earning his keep more consistently though.

Interesting that Fes has been the one in the game when we made the comeback against Portland last year and then Miami this year. He is great to change things up defensively and disrupt the other teams flow.

Oh and MILSAP IS THE MAN

Jefferson isnt going to be benched.

Sloan just went with what was working, which, if any of you ever paid attention to more than just the score, he always does when we make a comeback.

Is it to late to sign FES to a huge extention so portland doesn't come in next summer and run the price through the roof?

He did suck tonight for sure, but I till have the feeling he'll get it together. Tomorrow is a great way to start that.

Gawd, what a bunch of f'in retards. Jefferson, really?!? Tonight's loss rests solely in the lap of one C.J. "Chucker" Miles. In the last few minutes of the game how many poorly shot threes and out of control drives to the hoop did this clown take?

Put Al back in the game and swap Miles for Bell and we win this debacle. I for the life of me cannot understand why Sloan continues to use Miles at the end of the game. He is killing us!!!

Jazz once again crushed in the first quarter 25-13. Big Al once again team worse -10 on the night (CJ +13................). This was before our 3 million dollar backup SF even saw a minute of action. Now who is to blame again?

You do realize the Jazz won, right?

Did you stop watching the game or something and yes Jefferson was helping us to lose big time. Not really mentioned not only was he shooting horribly he would just allow Heat players to score and not even contest shots.

Start Fess. I love Big Al, but he isn't comfortable at all right now. Taking some pressure off him by moving him to a reserve role with starters minutes would help him big time.

Holy crap people relax! He needs time, its obvious, but he with Milsap will be rolling later this year. The jazz have a simple yet complex offense you really have to understand all that is going on so you can be effective. He will get better. They haven't even played 10 games!

Agree. Jefferson, until tonight, was averaging 18/10 on 45% shooting. That's prrety good. Not great, but I think that's about what we thought Millsap might do. Obviously we underestimated Millsap and had overly optimistic expectations about Big Al. The offense IS complex and the Jazz haven't even put everything in yet. The basic plays are there, but not all the variations off every play. Jefferson is likely thinking too much. When you have to worry about what you're doing and where you should be, then there's no way you can play to your maximum ability.

Give him time. We've had 7 games so far. And the starters didn't play much as a group in the pre-season. I'm much more worried abotu the production we're getting from Raja and CJ. Terrible games - AGAIN - from both of them.
